I mean unless they have medical reasons they can't drive or ride a bus or something.

I'm not chancing it.

Joe can have one term to not fuck anything up and then disappear and let an actual progressive in.

I'm coming from the opposite side, a Never-Trump Republican, but yeah... I haven't officially decided I'm voting for Biden, but I get closer every day. >_> I didn't vote for Hillary because I truly believed she was going to win handily, so I ended up doing a protest vote for a third party. Of course even then, while I really disliked Trump, I had NO IDEA how terrible he would really be, so... yeah I dunno probably maybe voting for Biden.

Biden better not start celebrating because he's up in polls. His fight hasn't even began.

People want to see him work for the vote and make reasonable changes and see him be accountable.

I don't think he literally has dementia or anything, but him being out there more worries me. >_> He just tends to fumble over words a lot, not being seen too often and only doing canned speeches has helped him I think. Well, that, and Trump being Trump has also helped him.

If that 55% mainly in NY, Cali, and blue states it won't matter. Only thing that matters is the swing state votes. As seen in 2016 Trump can win without popular vote.

I saw them going over some state polling recently and Trump was down a fair bit in quite a few of the states he won by the tiniest of margins, so we'll see.

At this point... what? Maybe another term in the senate? But his political career is basically over, so he can do whatever he wants.

I think he tried to lean into the right too hard in 2012 to keep the base happy (and win the nomination to begin with), although against a popular President Obama it wasn't like he was going to win either way. I think we are seeing the real Mittens now, though. He was quick to attack Trump before he even had the nomination, he even did that weird press conference with a stack of Trump steaks and talked about all of his con games and scams over the years.

And yeah, George Romney was running Nixon's HUD and got thrown out because he was forcing integration against the administration's wishes.

Mittens is kind of awkward and old-timey but was a pretty centrist governor and now senator.

Yeah, my parents are the same. They are great people but just... uh, ignorant of politics and government and news and stuff? They are just sort of "well we're republican so he must be great, bad things we here about him must be lies." but they aren't really that plugged in. A lot of people aren't. Lots of good people out there are just ignorant and have no idea what's going on.

Yeah. I mean who knows? I doubted him every step of the way in the primaries and general election last time, so anything is possible when you have a cultlike following. >_>

Its just hard to calculate what is happening NOW with how people will feel in November. If the virus doesn't have a significant spike or surge, that helps him. If there is significantly more rioting/looting/random innocent people being beaten/killed/robbed that there is actual protesting, that helps him. But if we have massive virus outbreaks and protesting remains mostly peaceful it probably hurts him--although people have short memories and might not even remember these things come November.

Has anyone here legit had a good experience with police?

Definitely, tons. But that's off topic. >_>

Main bad one I can think of is once my wife and I got pulled over (I think I was driving) because there was like... a translucent plastic plate that was slightly tinted red over her license plate. I'm not sure why it was there. It was there when we first met, I never thought to ask my wife why it was there and get rid of it. We didn't get a ticket or anything but he made me take it off the car, and of course over the years it had been there one of us had driven the car with cops directly behind us many, many times and none of them cared at all. We were driving out of town and going through some tiny little town where nothing ever happens presumably so the cop was probably just looking for something to do.

Another time more recently I wasn't around but my wife was in a very minor accident when someone tapped her bumper at a stop light, and it wasn't a big deal or anything, like there was no real damage so it didn't matter, but a cop showed up and just refused to do anything useful. The other driver had no proof of insurance and the cop just didn't care, lol. I guess since there was no damage it shouldn't bother me--he likely would've done more if there HAD been damage, but it was kind of annoying.

Other than that they have been kind of unhelpful when we've called them over a few thefts and stuff, like they never bothered to come out and do anything about it--but again, it was never anything too major so not like they would've really been able to do anything.

We have used off duty or retired officers for security where I've worked the last 20+ years, and they have always been pretty cool.
