Pure Capitalism is bad, but no one does that. It's the best system we have, but it relies on government to bring balance. Which is becoming an increasingly bigger problem.

I've yet to see a better alternative, but I'd say modern globalization is going to lead to a new system. If I'm alive to see it, who knows.

you have to make it, ensure it's strong enough to create the antibodies but weak enough to not make you sick, doesn't have other unintended consequences over a period of time, then mass produce and distribute it after it's been deemed safe enough.

if you think savings lives is for naught, however small or large you think the number saved is, you need some time with a good therapist. What you want to say, is we'll see if shutting down created a bigger problem. But I'd argue further exposing how the government, both the blue guys and the red guys, don't care about the american people and both want to prop up their business doners. Might finally be the spark to bring actual change to the system.

We have the exact points Bernie and Warren were running on, showing their ugly heads, and the DNC still want to push on with Biden and his status quo keep the corporations first priority policy. Even Yang's point, that the DNC would barely let be heard, is showing some validity to someone who thought UBI was a bad and unfeasible idea. While the GOP is following the example of a repeatedly proven idiot doing just about everything he can wrong. Both parties are giving increasingly fewer reasons to trust in either and driving voters away leaving a void to be filled.

49% of the people live in one city in South Korea. They delt with it better because its easier to control a smaller area, mask are already apart of their culture, they were in a better position to start testing, and their government leader isn't a dingleberry implying it's a democratic hoax.

South Korea didn't get through it by just "following the rules"

depends on the active infection rate. if it's high it's not excessive.

quarantine isn't about reducing total infections, it's about spreading them out. Testing is the cornerstone to opening backup and making a decision to lockdown for another 3 months today is dumb dumb. It may very well be how long it takes, but it's something you should be evaluating ever 3-5 weeks as more test are being made and initial shortages are wearing down.

Short of a vaccine, the same amount of people are going to be infected, it's about ensuring we don't overburden the hospitals.

as someone who has read through the ASoIaF series, I'm more looking forward to Elden Ring.

From software doesn't make games I enjoy. If it did I probably would too. By no means are they bad games, just not my genre.

I still want to read since there are plot lines in the books the show doesn't do, and the internets overreaction will probably change his mind.

yes but it's never really been important for any of my jobs. Almost every job i've had has come from a friend's recommendation. And recruiters are super aggressive since they get like 15-20% of your first year salary (that the company pays them, so no real difference to me), so i get offers regularly that I ignore unless they look interesting.

literally never had a problem with the wrong version of .net in the decade i've been using it. Even .net core has brought over the majority of the .net framework by now, and .net framework only adds so it's backwards compatible with previous versions.

it has no business being apart of front end development at this point unless you're still making windows apps, but if you're building apis or background task it's still great.

There isn't anything that suggest a-list is going to stay forever. And there is something to think it won't be around, the whole bit where it's not profitable if they don't have enough subscribers and they are in desperate need of money and already had the credit rating lowered. With movie pass gone and a-list getting people into premium theaters, a company desperate for money now can very well make the decision for money now. A-list was a long term plan that the risk of trying again are greater.

A-list could stay exactly as is, it could get another price hike, it could lose some features, or it could be nixed completely. Making any assumption of what it will be at this point is ignorant.

They need the high subscriber numbers they had reached finally around December. People cancelled as covid set off and people aren't going to return to theaters as quickly as AMC opens. Especially as big movies get delayed.

civ 6 is 2 units per tile if memory serves where artillery and other can share. but it's been a while. It's still better than stacks of doom in civ 4.
