Perhaps Zimmerman didn't commit full-on murder, but he still killed an unarmed 17 year old at least in part because he suspected that that 17 year old was causing trouble for no valid reason. Martin was doing absolutely nothing wrong, and a case can be made that he feared for his life when he struck Zimmerman. And Zimmerman indisputably lied when recounting the events, and we cannot hear Martin's side of the story because he was fatally shot. --- The fight for Net Neutrality is still not over! And the Koroks made exploration more engaging by giving you a reason to be more thorough in how you explore the world as you travel through it, as you have to be perceptive to locate most of them. The process of noticing tons of little unusual features in the world is really fun IMO. --- The fight for Net Neutrality is still not over! Planting lots of lots of extra trees is a very effective way to help combat climate change. So if you hear someone make a racist joke, act like you need them to explain the joke. If they are a racist, they will be forced to explain the racist premises of the joke or else lie or deflect. Push for them to explain the joke if they try to avoid doing so, and they will at least become less comfortable with using the joke. If there are other non-racists present, they will think about the premises of the joke themselves and potentially realize that it's a racist joke. Racism is not normal. Racism should not be treated as normal. Racist jokes perpetuate and normalize racist culture. Don't treat racist jokes as the same as actual jokes. Don't laugh at them, act like you don't understand them. Because they aren't funny unless you hold some racist beliefs, even just subconsciously. --- The fight for Net Neutrality is still not over! I don't think anyone is arguing this as a whole. The problem comes in defining "decent". Does that include a smartphone? Basic or premium cable? A new car? Home ownership without roommates? Are kids considered a lifestyle choice? etc. If you live like they did in the 40s and 50s when everything was used, home-repaired, and nobody owned shit you can get along on $9/hr just fine, but modern conveniences incur a modern cost. I would say that one important component of a decent standard of living is having considerable control over your own living conditions. If you want to live alone, if that genuinely makes you more happy, then you have the freedom to choose to do so. I don't like the idea that people in lower classes have far less freedom than people in higher classes. --- The fight for Net Neutrality is still not over!
