Topic | HOO BOY just dropped $1800 that I don't have on a new PC. |
genesis42 06/21/19 10:17:07 PM #66 | Ic3Bullet posted... OK I'm about to buy this RTX 2070, unless someone can convince me there's something better. Any other improvements you guys would recommend? If you can wait 2-3 weeks -- buy Navi/Super/Zen 2. If you don't mind buying second hand and looking around -- get a GTX 1080 ti for >$500. If you need to buy the best card right now within your alotted budget -- get an RTX 2070. If you need to buy right now while wishing to save $150 -- get an RTX 2060 (10~% weaker than a 2070). edit: the only other change I'd make is opting for a smaller HDD / a bigger SSD. 6GB is kind of overkill, but that's just me. I can't stand slow drives. --- |

genesis42 06/21/19 7:14:28 PM #58 | Mr_Rian posted... genesis42 posted...Yup. Just replace the $499 GTX 1070 ti for a $499 RTX 2070. It's about 10-15% better than the 1070 ti at the same price point, depending on the game: But in all honesty, with the Navi series just a couple of weeks away, TC might've been better off just waiting for AMD's Radeon 5700 XT, which was going toe to toe with Nvidia's 2070 at a $449 price point. Or perhaps even waiting for Nvidia's super lineup, which is predicted to be announced/launched a week earlier/later than Navi's lineup. This isn't even taking into account the horrible value proposition TC's i7-9700k provides, seeing as Zen 2 is also around the corner. --- |

genesis42 06/21/19 6:35:35 PM #55 | Mr_Rian posted... $1600 before taxes. To the people arguing about the GPU, can you build a PC to TCs specifications for this price with a better GPU? And none of the usual thing of downgrading parts or leaving things off because you think that the builder doesn't need them. Yup. Just replace the $499 GTX 1070 ti for a $499 RTX 2070. --- |

genesis42 06/21/19 6:16:53 PM #52 | Ic3Bullet posted... Lawl this $499 GTX 1070 Ti is plenty for me atm, fam. The RTX 2060 is cheaper at $350 while sitting in between a GTX 1070 ti and GTX 1080 in terms of performance. I'm thinking you got a bad deal here man. --- |
