A single Reeses cup isnt going to kill a dog. Wont even make them sick unless theyre a tiny breed. While it certainly isnt a healthy treat for them, a lot of people in this topic are overreacting.

My childhood dog was a beagle and my mom would give him chocolate probably once a week when I was a kid. He never once got sick from it and lived 17 years.

Shes particularly upset because her contract didnt have a provision for getting extra pay when they need to do re shoots where as her costar (mark Whalberg) did, so he got an extra few million of something like that when they had to re do all the Kevin spacey scenes and she didnt. Now shes trying to push it as a result of sexism and completely ignoring the fact that maybe Marky Mark just has a better agent and/or is a bigger star.

I dont follow his channel but Ive watch at least a handful of his videos before. He does a good job of presenting the info.

I think if you want a more in-depth analysis on certain things there are better options as I have noticed he doesnt always give both sides to some things that are debatable. But he does a great job of giving the basic information and explaining things in ways that are good for new people just getting into the subject.

I for one dont see how that helps anyone. So youre talking about a little window mounted unit? If so, pretty much just run through the trouble shooting page and if its anymore complicated than that, just replace it. You can always try taking off covers to see if a control board is burnt up, or the fan feels stuck. But its probably not worth fussing with too much.
TopicMan A/C died

Is just the A/C not working, or the fan/air handler in general?

A dirty filter can absolutely cause the evap coil to freeze up and your a/c unit will shut off on low pressure. In which case, just run it in fan only for a couple hours to thaw it out and change the damn filter.

If the fan isnt coming on, its either not getting power, the capacitor is bad, or the bearings on the fan motor are bad so its locked up.

Giant_Aspirin posted...
i'm generally left-leaning and think unions are generally good for the workforce.

but one downside that i experienced while i worked a job that required membership in one (grocery store) is that my raises were fixed and were purely based on how long i'd been there and had nothing to do with merit or performance. on one hand, this was nice because it meant i didn't have to worry about working hard. but it also kinda sucked because even though i ran circles around a number of other employees there i got the same raise they did. and because i was part-time my wage was capped which meant i was working as hard, if not harder, than my full-time colleagues but i was making $3-$4 less per hour than they were.

Thats pretty much my main gripe.

Obviously unions are great from protecting employees from a shit employer. But if you work for a decent company, merit based raises are nice.

Another guy and I started at our company at the exact same time last year (one week apart), at the same pay rate, we both had zero experience in the field, and were still finishing school. A few months ago he went to another company which is union and was making a couple dollars an hour more, which is cool. But his next raise is already determined when and how much. Where as when I had my 1yr review, my boss gave me a 20% which is now a few dollars an hour more than my buddy in the union makes, and still just slightly higher than what his next raise is supposed to be.

Honestly once youve driven manual long enough, it becomes so instinctual that you dont think about it. Its like asking if its annoying to have to blink all the time.

I prefer driving manual because its more engaging and fun. The only time its annoying is when youre in bumper to bumper traffic or youre trying to eat fast food while driving. Pretty much every daily driver Ive ever had has been a manual. I enjoy it. Although I do remember early on when my dad was teaching me how to drive manual and I hated it. I thought it was stupid because most cars are automatic anyways and I was just getting frustrated. It does take time before you get to the point where its all second nature.

If you live in a rural area or a nice quiet neighborhood, Id say go for it. My parents had one when I was a kid and I loved it. Id just lay out there and watch the dog run around or read a book. Its nice and relaxing. I dont know how relaxing itd be if you have noisy neighbors or live in town though.
