I know it hurts to admit that TLJ did irreparable harm, but one of the most common criticisms I'm seeing is that it's too much. JJ obviously crammed two movies into one.

It's too convenient to blame TLJ. While I get that it would be hard to come up with any kind of masterpiece conclusion to the sequel after TLJ, JJ should have at least been able to do better than this mess.

I don't care for the fact that if the House passes it, the Senate will shoot it down before it even hits the floor. It is just a huge waste of time with how divided our politicians are. The next election will decide more than this process.

It's also important to put Senate republicans in this position. A lot of the purple state Republicans would be risking re-election if stick their necks out for Trump, especially if support for impeachment among voters is high at the time of the Senate trial.

And just like that the US armed forces go from national military to merc company.
