What's the downside?

Smell like ass, vomit, piss, poop, animal hair (boar hair, real wool, etc. smell like death when wet), sweaty fungus feet, dirty nut sack, terrible breath, etc. all mixed together for one year. Even if you shower 10 times per day you can't get rid of the smell for 1 year.

Konami sells it to a different game company then invite Kojima and his team to do stuff like remake of MG1, MG2, and MGS1. MGS 2 and beyond are modern enough that it don't need to be remade. Then port all that stuff to the PC.
