Was kind of a busy week but I want to get back to Mario Makering. As usual, difficulty stays on the safer easier side but a concept I always liked. Rewards you for making more precise(But in no way impossible) jumps but placed in a more than doable water level for failure.

I kind of wish you hadn't put that Hammer Bros. there at the beginning. His movements are pure RNG, so if you want to make the first couple of jumps clean for a speedrun you have to hope he moves backwards and not forwards. And then there are the times he throws a hammer the moment he appears. Took me like 20 tries to get sub '22.

Also, judging a game based on a Quick Look is a terrible idea. The GB staff are awful at playing games, and make so many mistakes and judgment errors. If you watch them for fun it serves its purpose but they suck if you're looking for an actual good opinion.

Saw it just now. Liked it better than Homecoming, but mainly because of awesome Mysterio is. Of course the problem of knowing he's a villain made the entire first half kind of underwhelming (and made the moment where Peter gives him the glasses just really bad. But that would have been a stupid decision in any respect.) But I actually like the Peter/MJ stuff, so it was enjoyable enough waiting for Mysterio to finally reveal his true intentions.

Mysterio is just such a cool villain fully realized. The illusion scene in Berlin is an MCU highlight and nicely captures why he has the capability to be such a threat. I love the stuff that makes the characters and the audience question what's real or not, and I really hope he's not actually dead (it is the MCU, which loves just killing of villains and wasting more potential for them). I wouldn't have minded at all if they showed that his death was just another illusion, even if they eventually never did anything with it, just to hammer home how unreliable everything you see around Mysterio can be. Although I admit having illusions and Skrulls in play all the time might not be the best thing for the canon at large. We don't want to be second-guessing everything in every following movie I suppose.

The absolute best part of course was seeing J.K. Simmons return as JJJ. I was smiling so much when he showed up. Love to see where they're going to take this with the next movie.

These complaints about items are hilarious because this is exactly what I've been pointing out for ages whenever people would say Mario Kart needed to remove the Blue Shell (or "balance" it by making it hit everyone in front of you). If you didn't have something like the Blue Shell to target the front of the pack, you just end up with runaway leads when all the racers are at the same skill level.

Yeah, the later Harvest Moon/SoS games don't feel that good to me. And the post-split Natsume Harvest Moon games look like garbage. I don't like Stardew Valley either. When it comes to farming simulations the only thing I have left to count on is Rune Factory...

For my top Harvest Moon games FoMT is definitely one of the best, so the remake might be fun. My top three is probably that, HM64, and Islands of Happiness.

haven't played it. went to look it up. wow. for some reason I overlooked this game and never really heard people talk about it. but it seems like there is a lot of stuff to it. guess I always assumed it was one of the more basic games, so I skipped it. I'm pretty curious to try it out now.

DS should be much better than it is. What really holds it back for me is how glitchy it is.

You should definitely do 5. Amazing game and most people consider it the best in the series.

4 and 6 are solid entries. 3 is more old school, but really good if you're more into the gameplay and dungeon crawling as opposed to plot.

In any case if the majority of your experience is with 1 and 2 you should absolutely check out the later ones when the series was polished more.

I'd recommend the Dragon Quest games but I know they need to connect to the internet one time when you start them up. After that you don't use internet. Don't know how much that matters.

I'm really sorry about that Koopa appearing right before you after the checkpoint. I moved the checkpoint there late in the development and didn't realize it would be RIGHT THERE until I had already beaten the course.

the first 40 seconds of this are terrible. complete snoozefest before anything challenging. having to waste those 40 seconds every time you die is pretty bad

That's fair criticism. I wanted the beginning to be slower and simpler than the rest of the stage to ease people in, but also originally the checkpoint was right after the first area so I guess I didn't realize how much of a bother it could be.
