Scarlett Witch was a sexy, scantily clad, but ultimately underwritten character with a distracting fake accent. So was Elektra. Ultron was a robotic Mr. Freeze. Bullseye was a little campy, but Ultron just overdid it with his bad jokes and Pinocchio sing-along. We get it, you're owned by Disney. Ha ha ha. The Hulk/Iron Man fight was pretty cool. I'll grant it that. DareDevil didn't have any standout fights because they both played off of that hokey gimmick where the hero would've won easily had he not been injured. |

That's not setting the bar too high, but there are far worse superhero movies out there. I think it's just another case of the internet making everything under the sun the "best ever" or "worst ever." |

For the most part, Hollywood just let it be its own thing. You might be able to argue that it helped to shape Hollywood's opinion of the Civil War -- which might be more of a hurt than a help -- but Hollywood was already strongly promoting the notion of the "Lost Cause." It's difficult to directly tie anything down and say that it happened specifically because Gone With the Wind did it. With Star Wars, you know that 60% of science fiction that came after 1978 was directly influenced by Lucas's film and its sequels. |

But it still stinks. The only positive is that, as kids naturally grow older, he'll be able to be involved in interesting storylines in a few years from now. I'm still kinda crossing my fingers that he might meet Mary Jane Watson in college. Then again, she'd probably be some short haired gothic type loosely based off of the Ultimate line of comics. So maybe it's for the best if she doesn't show up. |

This area has futuristic stuff, this area has fantasy stuff, this area has stuff from the past (Samurai instead of western), etc. Their mascots were a brother and sister pair who were dressed like British soldiers. Theme parks are tricky because you can't copyright a ride design the same way that you can a story. There are also a certain number of manufacturers in the world. Sometimes, you'll get suspiciously similar coasters or water rides simply because the same people that build for Disney and Universal build for the other parks as well. |

He was on board with it, but he and the other company could never agree on the licensing fees. So, they made their own theme park without the Disney license. It went well until Tokyo Disney opened up in the 1980s. Everything was downhill from there. It just made me realize that, if not for them being seasonal, the theme parks in the Midwestern United States would probably be put out of business by Disney expanding with an additional park or two. Cold winters are the only things keeping the mouse at bay. |

Sports are about competition. It's not the jungle. It's not about who's the baseline strongest. It's about who's the best in their respective league. That's why we don't have heavyweight boxers knocking out middleweight boxers in two punches. I hope someday we'll have enough trans athletes for them to have their own leagues. Until then, it's unfair for them to compete with cis women. |
