I cant believe youre referring to the obviously engineered invitation. America started the war with the intention of splitting the country in two to support American interests.

That's a pretty bogus reason to go to war, but I like the sound of it a lot better than genocide.

I made an appointment with the vet. So that day I made him a big ass steak and gave him the whole damn thing. I still had to pick him up and put him in the car though.

She was able to get in the car under her own strength, but she couldn't sit down. She stood in the back floorboard the whole way there.

I didn't get her a steak -- I probably would have if I'd had time and money -- but I did get her a rotisserie chicken. (I still plucked the bones out, of course.) Chicken was always her favorite food. Her eyes would get a glazed over look whenever she smelled it.

I had a German Shepherd too. You always know the day is coming and then you start to see it.

I lied to myself a bit. We'd typically go for two walks a day. In the weeks prior to her having to be put down, she'd make it the length of a few houses before she'd want to turn around and go back home. I blamed it on her becoming more susceptible to summer heat in her old age.

We did manage to go for a mini-walk on her last day.

Enter The Dragon is the one about Lee's character avenging his sister, right? Saw that last September.

Yeah.

She got a pretty good fight scene in her own right. Come to think of it, it's probably the first American made movie in which a woman defeated multiple guys in hand to hand combat.

Questionmarktarius posted...
Is that the one with Chuck Norris, or the one with John Saxon?

Saxon.

Chuck Norris kinda-sorta had his own Enter the Dragon-esque movie in Octagon. Its not as good, but the fight with the masked dude is pretty cool. Plus it has Lee Van Cleef as an old bounty hunter guy.

I think the connection is intentional.

Red Grant inspired a bunch of blond haired henchmen throughout the series and I think they wanted Bond to have blond hair in the remake to show that he was a ruthless killer.

Sherlock Holmes never once said "elementary my dear Watson"

I read a bunch of Sherlock stories and I think people would be surprised. Pop culture has altered a lotta shit. Irene Adler, for instance, is in a grand total of one story and neither she nor Sherlock has any sort of romantic relationship. In fact, the story involves Irene marrying someone and running away with him.

And Moriarty doesn't particularly give a shit about Sherlock, he only cares because Sherlock is dismantling his criminal empire.

The famous elementary quote came from the first talking picture to feature Sherlock Holmes, 1929's The Return of Sherlock Holmes.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle passed away in 1930. I wonder if that line became instantly popular or if he had any idea that it would be the quote most associated with his character.

They also hate him because he skipped the matrix and didnt want to be in Django Unchained

I don't fault him for either of those decisions.

Laurence Fishburne said in an interview with Turner Classic Movies that the Wachowskis would not allow any deviation from the script and that he felt they didn't respect the actors as contributors to the story. Denied improv, it's not a Will Smith performance. And Django Unchained is a great movie, but Django is Robin and Schultz is Batman.

I'm not sure what adaptation you're talking about.

In the movie, the monster was innocent enough -- as his action could be construed as accidents or acts of retaliation -- but Frankenstein was a pretty decent guy himself. In the novel, Victor is a selfish and careless individual, but his monster is a child murderer whose actions are premeditated.
