The reasons "all lives matter" is an asinine response to "black lives matter" are the same reasons "all genocides matter" is an asinine response to "the Armenian genocide matters". Patriots now have 8 wins.

If you exclude the Bills from their opponents, the other seven teams they've faced have nine wins combined. Through half of the season. Seven opponents (Jets were played twice so I counted their one win twice), through a combined 49 games, have nine wins. (Steelers and Dolphins play each other tomorrow so that will go up to 10 wins regardless of what happens afterwards but still).

That is almost an impossibly easy schedule. Patriots obviously have a ton of skilled players and are a very good team, but I cannot believe their luck through the first half of the season.

Also Pete has always been on the moderate side of things. This isnt a recent turn. He was the dude that wanted to go on Ben Shapiros show until everyone yelled at him. He never has had the same progressive policy positions of Bernie or even Warren. Even his comments on the Supreme Court arent out of line with what hes been talking about the entire time. Hes the one who had the crazy idea of five liberals, five conservatives, and five picked by those ten.

That is by its very definition going to be a very moderate court.

What's weird is Buttigieg entered the race as a much more progressive voice with talk about abolishing the Electoral College, etc.

I don't want to say the lobbyists/donors got to him but man it's awfully fishy how he made his sharp turn into the moderate lane and taking shots at the left more and more after his initial surge in polling and fundraising.

the curse of "candidates who at one time or another were in my top 3" struck again because these days i'm a hard pass on him.

I think its just strategy to a certain degree. You dont have to ascribe hes caved to lobbyists when you have no evidence and there are alternate reasons.

The only candidate to be occupying the moderate lane now is Biden. Warren and Sanders are vying for the left of the party and both have well established bases. If you had to pick on of the three major candidates to implode in a cloud of failure first, who would it be? The intellectually consistent person who has been pushing the same ideology for 50 years, the well prepared and well composed person who has only been growing in the polls, or the guy that doesnt always seem to know where hes at and cant stop saying dumb stuff.

All of the lesser candidates should be positioning towards the middle now. The left lane is well occupied and the middle could be open if Biden wets himself again.

Its why Pete has been going up in the polls while Beto has been going down imo.

Mayor Pete is "fine" and I would prefer him out of all the other moderates if that's what it comes to, but yeah that's a pretty not great opinion.

To be fair to Mayor Pete, he probably only thinks of Kennedy as the guy who helped Obergfell rather than the guy who helped Citizens United.

This is also possible but it makes him seem uninformed. As 538 repeatedly pointed out, Kennedy was not a liberal and him being replaced by Kavanaugh didn't really lead to a significant shift in the court.

I seriously hope Biden doesn't win. If Biden wins we get a repeat of 2016 where far left Dems throw a hissy fit because Biden is bad, Trump wins, then we have to listen to four more years of them throwing a bigger hissy fit because Trump is much worse and they don't know what they could've done to prevent such a tragedy.

If I was being *really* hopeful, we' be able to find a great liberal candidate that wasn't 70+ years old. My dream candidate is essentially 1) liberal 2) at least somewhat charismatic and 3) doesn't need to have their phone set up by their grandchildren. Which, somehow, is an impossible scenario for us this cycle it appears. Warren/Sander at least check off 2 of the 3.

Im not making any predictions, but I think theyve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate, Clinton said on a podcast with former Barack Obama aide David Plouffe. Shes the favorite of the Russians.

If you listen to the podcast, she isn't even talking about the Russians going into that snippet. She's talking about the Trump campaign's (and their web based support) strategy for winning states like Wisconsin and Michigan where they clearly can't get over 50% of the vote and need to push some third party alternative to help them win. So I'm actually not totally clear she is referring to Tulsi as a Russian asset (she does directly call Stein a Russian asset roughly a minute after that though but you could be right as to it being a "Russian asset" vs Russian "asset" thing I dunno for sure).

Yeah, it is hard for some of you to believe that people can set aside differences in political beliefs and still value, honor, and respect others whose views differ from your own because so few of you seem to embody that in yourselves.

That is why Ellen hanging out with George Bush can be slammed so vehemently and it be so hard for you to believe that a Republican can say something honoring a deceased Democrat.
