I actually had a lot of fun with the protection mechanic and setting up a bunch of traps using weapons and items Id never use otherwise. There was one time I set up so many traps I didnt even have to shoot a single bullet.

i think the two i have are remakes? millennium girl i think is a remake of the original?

i am not far enough into xenoblade to really give a good opinion yet but the opening was really cool and the combat seems fun. the world itself is a very original concept and i like the initial buildup at least .

Correct. So you can go with them first too if theyre the ones you have. The originals are dated like the original FE games that were remade so you dont need to go back to them unless you really want to see what they were like.

i have etrian odyssey untold millennium girl and etrian odyssey 2 fafnir knight on 3ds. would you recommend starting with the original?

The general consensus is to start with 4 first because its tailored to newcomers with more powerful classes and shorter levels. It has an extra mode that the others dont have though. If by original you mean the DS games you should probably skip those since those are very outdated and unbalanced. The untolds are superior remakes in every way. The stories arent connected so 4 is still a good starting point and then MG, FK, 5 and Nexus. There isnt an untold for 3 though and Nexus as a culmination of the series references 3 a lot you might want to check 3 out even though its very dated compared to the 3ds games.
Personally I started with 5 which was the game that focused on the challenge the most so it was a unique experience for me because I kept getting my ass handed to me lol.

And I havent played xenoblade yet but I heard good things about it and that it can get emotional in places so I hope you have fun with it!

Yep, its pure D&D style JRPG gameplay that focuses on the gameplay and how best to mold your team while exploring the dungeons as you overcome its challenges. And its one of the more difficult JRPGs so an experienced player like you should be able to have a good challenge with it. The story is a lot more basic than most JRPGs but it makes up for it with its atmosphere and gameplay which I think is what you look for the most in a JRPG.

On the flip side, I found it an incredibly enjoyable bite sized series. At 6 episodes, it's not a huge time investment either.

Its funny because anime seasons used to be 24 episodes by default in the past, even smaller SOL ones. Nowadays almost everything is 12-13, even stuff like One Punch Man, and anything that gets to 24 episodes or more are either extremely hyped anime or long runners.

Season 4 is so far an even further dip in quality. There's not as much food explanations involved and because no one messes up at all anymore It's mostly, "This is perfect but this other one is more perfect!"

I think the third season is good too. The ending was just very rushed and open because the actual professional chef the author was consulting with left and Soma doesnt really achieve anything he set out to do. He might intend to come back to it someday.
