I was just checking to see if these exploring free-roam mingle with your party elements were a brand new development in the series or had crept its way in to prior titles in one way or another. Sounds like this is just the next step in FE's emphasis on relationship building mechanics. If I discover a renewed interest in tactical combat, maybe I'll check out a previous title. But I expect it'll be the explore system that sucks me in and the story is what will lead me when the focus shifts mainly combat. --- snowpork Zazi is OP. |

| ZaziGuado 06/18/19 8:51:35 AM #41 | Call me naive, but I wasn't even fully aware of communities like /r/gamersriseup and that weird and cringeworthy joker stuff. I was also consuming little to no video game related media around the time the awfully named gamergate business was happening. I think an alternative that could be used, at least in a contextual matter like press conferences, could simply be players. I acknowledge that players can't be used as a blanket description, however. | ZaziGuado 06/17/19 9:05:55 PM #1 | I've never been a fan of people referring to video game players as gamers. It's always carried some sort of stigma to me and I've never been one to refer to myself as that, even as the term has seemingly become more colloquial in recent years as video games have become a more accessible and popular medium of entertainment. I feel like it describes a stereotypical lifestyle as opposed to an interest in the hobby. However, I feel like this could also strongly be a me thing. I have trouble admitting that video games are easily my top hobby when it comes telling strangers in a work or social setting my interests and activities, though when pressed I won't try to make up anything alternative. I just fear the assumptions that could be made about me, even though I can admit that the assumptions that run through my head are antiquated by this point in society and many people share this hobby in some form or another. Does anybody else share my concerns, or is my borderline shame silly? --- snowpork Zazi is OP. |

Give me Starcraft Battlefield. I want to be a Zealot charging into a group of Marines. I want to be a Firebat torching a wave of Zerglings. I want to be a Hydralisk assaulting a Battlecruiser. | ZaziGuado 04/26/19 3:18:19 PM #2 | I was at the house show last night where the ref broke his leg in the main event. It was gnarly. When he originally went down, nobody noticed he was in real pain. Then he threw up the X and I and others in the crowd assumed he was overselling and chuckled a bit. And then I saw his leg as he threw up the X again and the other ref rushed to the ring and I missed the entire rest of the match because I was consumed by the image of his leg being 90 degrees from how it should be. Luckily the match ended a minute later complete with him calling the three count. It was a damper on the night since it was the main event but overall a good time. Also Eric Bugenhagen is a delight and I hope they show Riddick Moss as his foil on TV. --- snowpork Zazi is OP. |
