Have you cleaned out the laptop with duster. I had issues with a laptop several years ago until I did so. And sometimes there are weird issues involving non-taxing games overheating. Halo 1, for instance, used to always make my laptop overheat for god knows why even though it ran fine.

The movie wasn't terrible but it had way too much going on. They really should have simplified the plot more like the miniseries did instead of cramming so many scenes in.

Duke 3D is the most fun and most playable. Not a fan of Rise of the Triad, Redneck Rampage or Dark Forces. I really like both Blood and Shadow Warrior but their difficulty is so through the roof that they almost come off as gimmicky for it whereas Duke 3D is straightforward fun like Doom/Doom 2

The newest release of Blood at the very least let's you customize the difficulty. So you can play on medium difficulty but with cultists that are extraordinarily inaccurate, which makes the game's difficulty much more on par with the Doom games.

CE was better back then because the board posted about things besides politics. Gamefaqs (and presumably CE) hit its peak traffic around 2008 if the poll of the days are to be believed. The fact that there was so much more traffic meant that we could have the same amount of posts about politics as we do now but it would only constitute a minority of the posts. Plus there were really no right wing shitposters.

Sounds like it would only be a slight modification to the hypothesis since they would still be dependent on the remnants of Beringia. Also doesn't change the fact that the land bridge did exist at various times and that other terrestrial animals used it to migrate between the continents.
