Were you also a math major Eclair?

I got over being upset by not being the best in class by realizing its all about time allocation. Those people care about math in such a way, thats great. I cared about my personal life and career, and developed skills hat would be beneficial over adding an extra 0.5 to my GPA.

Side note, dont go to grad school with depression. Just dont.

Lack of professor recommendation is kind of a red flag. While I learned about textbook material in the classroom, I really learn the subject by talking to professors and classmates while doing projects.

Congrats, have a job lined up? Last I heard you were in DC.

I graduate this month and I actually got a job at Penn! Pretty excited about it.

Honestly social work and public policy sounds like you could have a very socially impactful career ahead of you. I really wish I could go into policy one day.

I got it for 19k with 13k miles. My 2003 had like 130k miles but needed like 4k in repairs to pass inspection since I'm moving.

After seeing insurance cost increase ($50 per month extra), I'm kinda regretting getting the new camry. It's really nice, but for $600 a year extra insurance I'd just put that into fixing up my old car. I got an online estimate with my company beforehand and it was only $200 (USAA). Wish I had called now.

I also planned on paying it off at my first payment. I was originally told I got the car cheaper by financing over doing cash, but it turns out this wasn't true and I was sort of experiencing information overload when buying. Now I wasted like $100 in interest on it. Since I have to wait a few weeks for Ally to make my account so I can pay it off. A few weeks! Why can't they make an account and let me pay it off in a day?

It is and it isn't. There's classes people have to take that's irrelevant to their degree, and that makes no sense. Degrees should be streamlined to get the best experience, as well the best education possible for that degree

You were in an beginners course. They're going to force feed you slowly. Classes aren't individually tailored to you. Just because you know programming doesn't mean the people sitting around you do.

I disagree. A undergraduate education should be about getting a well rounded education across all major areas (art, history, science, language, math), and then a specialization.

But, I also believe my non STEM college courses were embarrassing and easier than my high school courses and taught mostly by people drunk on the idea of life of the mind when they didnt have a basic quantitative reasoning background and had a vendetta against math.

The time I spent interaction with my physics professors outside of class was a huge benefit to me as a person.

last six years.

140k starting with a raise after finishing a certification exams, supposedly get 3% annual raises also. Gives me a 401k, 457b, health/dental/vision, and 34 days of PTO. Hired at one of the most prestigious programs in the field.

I kinda wish I pursued something else as a career. Whenever I get into doing math or programming I have so much fun. But at the same time, I feel that a professional software engineering job probably is focused on writing crappy code to meet crappy deadlines with crappy features from a design team while having crappy coworkers who entered software engineering for the money.

I guess I don't want to do software engineering, I want to do research developing new algorithms to solve problems or to automate things. Idk, I feel kind of empty inside right now with my current pathway, there is so much redundancy and paperwork in medicine and it's pretty obvious there are a ton of people who are just in this path for the money and prestige and "clear cut" lifepath. Honestly I'd say almost everyone is in it for those reasons. I was advertised a career which is very different that the one I'm in, and my reasons for being in it changed from love of what I'm doing to stability and the ability to achieve financial independence by the time I'm 40.

Really though, are most jobs pretty much a waste of time of waiting for other people to do things so you can do your part, and redoing work because and doing work that doesn't get used because people higher than you are unorganized or the scope and goals of a project keep changing?

Children of the Zodiarcs and Hand of Fate come to mind.

Shouldn't overlook those even though they're not "IRL" card games, they're solid games. Not f2p, and there's a sequel to Hand of Fate though I haven't played it

Oh these look good, like Lost Kingdoms.

There's Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist which contians every card in the series.

I know there used to be a pokemon game for GBA and a duel masters game.

What else is there? Games that specifically were made for an IRL card game. Not f2p things where you have to grind very hard to make your decks.
