Gotta praise bofuri even more. The battles actually feel pretty clever with how they use skills. This show doesn't really NEED good battles but it has them anyway. I find myself smiling without realizing it while watching this show. Really makes me want to play an MMO. If only blue protocol would enter open beta soon but it looks like CBT is still a month or so off.

Ok, episode 3 of bofuri really sold me. This has a lot of what I want from "isekai". The fighting is cool but what I really like is just the wonderful sights and small details present in the game. The sunset beach, the astral dining. Stuff like that really makes the world feel so much more interesting and alive.

Reminds me a lot of the small things Monster Hunter World has done with it's food and housing and endemic creatures and stuff. I love things that make the game feel larger and more complete. Also props to the fictional devs in bofuri for nerfing the shit out of the main characters broken ass build. This show is just so fun and enjoyable. I feel like I could watch it forever.

Lol rev got a strike on his youtube channel for an animated video where the character snorts crushed up anime girl figurines because it "shows using explicit hard drugs". Anime girls are now explicit drugs.

I mean, I watch a lot of pro smash players pretty often. They all complain about online and like 1 out of every 10 games is just an unplayable slideshow for them.

Also, aside from the netcode, the actual set up is pretty bad. Not having a competitive ranked playlist is a bit frustrating and something that'd be in basically every other fighting game out there.

Only Japanese game I have been playing is Smash Brothers Ultimate.

Its been really fun trying to master advanced techniques and character combos and watching tourneys and learning about the top players in the world.

With the 1st season pass over now, we have another one coming out which will release six characters over the next two years. Theres been talk about Sora and Overwatch characters being in it which would be cool.
I really want to get into smash but the online is just SOOOOO shit that I always give up. It is legit fun when it works well or you play offline but nintendo really managed to make almost the worst possible system. Literally halo 2 on release, worked 1000x better than smash does online. It's appalling. If online worked good, you'd see it probably become a much bigger esport but as it is, having to go in person to play people just kills it for so many people.

Iyashikei when I see it has generally been translated to healing. Shows that are meant to be calming and pleasant. Stuff like senko-san or yuru camp. No real tough obstacles for the cast to overcome, no real drama, not really super hilarious, just pleasant vibes and relaxation. Aria is probably the best example I can think of.

Yeah it's currently airing. I was expecting more of an ecchi comedy angle but it's more like light ecchi iyashikei so far. Also a pleasant level of yuri, though probably not enough to call the show a yuri anime. Then again, I've only seen 2 eps. Theres nothing amazing about it so far, but it's enjoyable which is all I was hoping for.

I'd much much rather just pay 60 bucks all at once and get a well made game that gives everything. I think free to play almost forces shit game design. If you are free to play, you should be able to play comfortably without spending a cent. Most games basically just charge inconvenience instead of money. The only free to play game I've felt did it fine is league but I don't think their model works for most types of games.

Yeah, most classes are pretty fast paced... You can play sword hero and hold one PA for decent dps, but it's not optimal. Summoner might be pretty chill because you can't JA, so no timing is really needed and you can just hold down PA buttons.
Yeah, I mostly played braver when I used to play which is probably one of the higher APM and timing based classes. I really LIKE fast paced high intensity combat, I've just grown incompatible with it. Hopefully I just get better. I long for the days when I used to have a static in MMOs to play with. Some of the most fun times of my life have been running easy dungeons in TERA while we all tried to get each other killed while on discord.

I intend to play it. I played the jp version twice for a month or two both times.

It's tough for me to play action games with my health though. I seem to be able to handle about an hour of monster hunter twice a day on good days and PSO2 requires a lot more button presses so I'm not sure I'll actually be able to play it. I really want to play it though. Been looking for a new online game to play for a while.

Ishuzoku reviewers aka interspecies reviewers is about a group of dudes (and a futa angel) in a fantasy world who bang prostitutes of every species they can find, and review them. They post the reviews at a local pub and people pay them for the info.

It's hilarious and borderline hentai. Especially episode 3 and 4. Like, I wouldn't have been surprised if funimation chose not to pick up the show, no big deal there, it's that they aired 3 eps and then canceled it.

The uncensored version is quite graphic. Like, they show sex and some fluids and stuff. Funimation wasn't airing that version though.

The doctor couldn't find the lump in my neck but assured me it was nothing to worry about...even though he has no idea what it was because he didn't feel it. Literally too angry to sleep right now. What is the point? Why do I even go to the doctors? The one thing an algorithm might do worse than a real doctor, a physical inspection, he just decided "eh fuck it, it's probably nothing". I'm actually going insane. I want to wake up from this. What great sin did I commit to deserve this never ending nightmare? Everything about me is "probably fine" and yet I am very clearly NOT FINE.

Guess I'll watch anime till I'm tired enough to fall asleep through the anger. Gotta to sleep in time to wake up before 2 so I can back to the damn hospital again so I can get depressed at the futility of the whole thing all over again..

Pretty sure PCSX2 perfectly emulates all PS2 games at this point. If any game can't be emulated, it's 100% a software issue and nothing to do with hardware.

Upon checking, PCSX2 lists 96.5% of all games as working. Generally due to interest good games end up being made to work first so it's likely the 3.5% not working are garbage games that nobody cared enough about to get working.

they did try though
Not really. They didn't try to find any kind of answer they didn't already possess. Not one doctor has done an ounce of research for me, none of them have asked any of their colleagues, no one has tried to come up with a new test or treatment. They try like one or two things that I already knew about before I went in because a quick google search told me as much or more than they did and when that doesn't turn up a result they just throw up their hands and give up, as if thats remotely acceptable.

If a highschool dropout with access to google can come up with the same options and then some compared to doctors with 10 years of training and 30 years of experience, what is even the point of employing them?

The doctors try only to the extent that they are legally required to, sometimes less than that, and then they act like they are greatest human beings to ever live.

Haven't really mentioned the doctors lately but fuck them. So content to let patients suffer without even trying to help. My neurologist gave up on me. "I have no idea what to do with you". Then fucking get out the books, make some calls, do something. Doctors are just robots designed to fill in a spreadsheet for each patient. The spreadsheet is the real doctor and it's not a very good one.

I might have MCAS and of course theres one guy in the state that deals with that and the soonest appointment is in fucking july assuming I live that long. The only reason I know I might have it is because of research me and my mom have done that of course the doctors I see have no idea about. He basically said it's not even worth figuring out whats wrong with me cause there won't be a treatment. Actual subhuman filth that deserves death. Fuck doctors. I would be so happy if I could just kill them all (which I won't do, my life matters to me). It's sickening how they think so highly of themselves. This is like my real life villain backstory before I go insane and try to reset the world or some shit. How did this happen? How are there not doctors willing to try and cure their patients? Why did they even pick this career choice? How do they sleep at night knowing they could make such a difference and yet choose not to? Why isn't anyone doing anything about this?

Sigh. It's just wasted energy. I can't make a difference either. Not sick like I am now. Down to 146 lbs and dropping, albeit slowly now. Feel random extreme heat and I twitch randomly and am in pain a lot of the time. Food still ruins me. Even a small amount of meat yesterday had me hurting for hours. Liver enzymes still high. Pretty much everything either too high or too low in my last blood test. Randomly get super fatigued and unable to feel emotions or think much. Kinda feels like my brain just isn't getting enough blood. Hands and feet freezing, can't sweat. Can't go out alone, can't drive. I didn't go outside once for over a month. The only people that care can't help and the only people that can help don't care. I don't even know why I'm so attached to living still. Some part of me is just coded to think life is worth living despite all the evidence to the contrary. Lucky me I guess.

In happier news, I started beastars and it's real good so far so theres that I guess.

It's better than fairy tail but worse than one piece. Main character is annoying but ends up being pretty bearable IMO. Show has a good arc around episode 40-50 IIRC. I'm not caught up.

It made me happy that in typical shonen fashion, they don't use their powers in the most cheap OP ways they could, but then later enemies call out the weaknesses to their main strat and the main characters actually adapt. That SHOULD be the standard, but it's very much not in shonen.

The main guys power is a bit uninteresting though. Typical ability cancel like main guy from index (touma I think).

Since the canceling is pretty all or nothing it's kind of hard to feel a steady level of progress so they mostly focus on his ability to reach targets and survive damage which is probably the best way they could go with it.

I've only played for like 5 hours though and I only have the 1 character.

I know it'll open up once I get more members, but the different combat style will take some getting used to.
It REALLY gets better once gambits are introduced. That lets you automate much of combat and build strategies and thats where the combat becomes fun. It's very tedious early on when you just manually attacking everything and thats about it.

Been watching my hero lately and honestly not enjoying it. The pacing of this last arc was soooo fuckin slow. Every 3 seconds is a flash back. The villain got like 5 flash backs, and every side character got like 3. It started to feel like dbz where 4 episodes happen just so 30 seconds of fighting can progress. The actual combat animation was really cool but after being blue balled over and over by flash backs it's hard to keep the hype up.

It also has the other consequence of encouraging me to think more about the show which is not something that is in the shows favor. Why don't good guys carry guns? Why is chisaki's plan incredibly stupid? Why aren't they willing to use the girl as a power boost for deku in the future as long as eraser head is there? Why would the villains be moved to a hospital before the area has been secured and the league of villains has been made sure not to be following? Why the fuck did they not search chisaki and take the fucking bullets off of him? Like seriously thats downright inexcusable.

Why nighteye as a character? Seriously "oh the universe evens out whatever blah blah blah". No, you literally reversed the flow of events and outcomes almost every single time you used your powers. The future where you don't find the hideout entrance, the future where deku whoops yo ass, the future where he decides to punch someone in the face when their future didn't show that. Like, no, thats just wrong. It's literally impossible for it to work how he says.

Why a lot of things? I get it, it's a shonen, turn your brain off and look at the bright flashing colors. I can't do that when they keep slowing down the pace and asking me to think though, This arc should have been half as many episodes or been written better.

Sorry for the rant but my normie friends are all hyped and love this show and keep asking me to watch every week and it's just pissing me off.

Been playing MHW:iceborne on PC lately. It's fun but ultimately still has the same issues as base world that really limit their design. Namely that healing is so infinite and quick that monsters pretty much have to oneshot/one combo you or they might as well have done nothing. I call it the neir:A problem cause automata had that problem very badly.

Oof, that bad?
I mean, it's watchable. The first 15 or so episodes are probably the worst of it. S2 has way less CGI but they get pretty lazy. A lot of scenes in battles are just still images being panned and shaken slightly with battle noises. The animation is never so bad it takes away from the story for me, but like, theres a lot of badass shit in this anime that could use good animation.

Also, the first 15 episodes are basically a prequel to the actual story. I found those 15 to be fine, but the main series is about the main guy working his way up the army to become the greatest general. Stealing clever or impressive victories and suffering tragic defeats. It's a really enjoyable story and as of the end of S2, theres still a ton left to go.

And in case you are interested it's based off a true story but the main character didn't exist in real life (and many events happen differently). The king/emporer guy did exist and was the first to unite china. He also killed himself by using fireworks to try to launch himself to the moon to gain immortality supposedly but that was when he was much older.

Yeah I had that although it seems there are multiple issues causing it. Theres a compatibility issue with windows 7, a compatibility issue caused with some of the old graphics settings (the issue I had), and compatibility issues with some hardware.

Fortunately, I can run the game on highest (with motion blur off cause ew) with no problems after all this hassle. My brain is broken though because I'm using my switch pro controller now but previously I've used 360 controller and PS4 controller. Switch pro has A and B, and then X and Y switched compared to that so my muscle memory is all wrong and I keep sheathing my weapon instead of attacking and drawing my weapon instead of using an item. I'll get used to it though. I've also got a headache from all the troubleshooting so I feel like I need to rest instead of play. Very annoying.

Well that was a tedious nightmare. Iceborne just launched on PC and it may be the worst japanese launch yet. I guess Nier:A was worse.

For whatever incomprehensible reason, old save files are not compatible with iceborne so if you haven't played and saved the game in the last several months, your save is effectively gone. I had not played in over a year. Fortunately, I made back ups cause I expect incompetence with japanese devs+PC even though it was delayed months behind console so they could make work well. Lol, what a fucking waste of time that was.

I had to use a save editing tool and someone else's recent save to drag my character over to the new file in slot 2 (presumably the game can read slot 1's data and thats how it get's to the menu), mod the new file to have my steam ID, then load it up and fix several issues in game. That took hours to figure out and thank god that save editing tool existed.

Then, I get in game and it looks awful. Not like kinda bad, but like, clearly there is some kind of problem bad. So I look that up and the fix is at least fairly easy. Set graphics to minimum, save, exit game, reload game, change graphics settings back.

Fortunately I didn't use any mods because that also breaks your game. There's no error message for it either, it just hangs when loading your character image.

And of course, the cherry on top is the completely expected radio silence from capcom. Are they aware of the issues? Will they fix them soon? Are they laughing maniacally at PC users that they seem to hate with a passion? Who the fuck knows cause we haven't heard a word. The forums are on fire and it's a complete shitshow.

Why are lone modders with 2 days time more capable than entire teams of japanese PC porting devs with like an entire year of time? And it's not like this is an isolated indecent, it's the fucking norm. I'm so sick of this shit.

At least in the end I and my friend were able to fix our saves and get the game to run well enough for now. Way to completely annihilate my hype though by forcing me to troubleshoot issues for like 5 hours.

Yeah thats the point in the series where you go "ok, he's probably the strongest guy ever now". His effort and work have finally rewarded him with surpassing everyone else in the story, and by a large margin.

It also helps illustrate that a difference in power just makes everyone else irrelevant. You can kinda see why they would look down on weak adventurers or whatever they are called. One man can be worth millions.

That arc is a pretty solid turning point in the story. Reminded me of the chimera ant arc from hxh for obvious reasons. It's hard for me to remember the order of events. Has he already gone to the top of the 100 floor demon tower? I know he has bel for a lot of what I've read but I can't remember specifically what.

I read decently far ahead in the novels. Is this the arc where they go fight the ants? I hope solo leveling gets a good anime someday. Tower of god is getting one so it's not out of the question.

Yeah, I still like em though. When it comes to jrpgs I think xenoblade is my favorite soundtrack as well. Great but also very distinct. They will know our names is probably my favorite boss theme.

You aren't wrong. Yuki kajiura in her prime. I think pandora hearts is her best soundtrack but .hack//sign is probably 2nd place for me.

Yeah those low points are why I wish someone would tackle the same themes again. A lot could be done better and it suffers somewhat from the whole .hack series being multimedia so the show isn't complete on it's own.

Been playing a fair bit of disgaea 5 the last few days. It's been pretty fun. I feel like the evilities do a pretty good job in incentivizing using more than one unit even though that's probably still optimal time wise.

Cool guy with 2 swards gets harem of 40 big tittied girls.
Minus the 2 swords part thats the plot of like 30% of all anime. I think it was the idea of vrmmo that caused it to take off so well. I still remember the hype online after the first SAO episode aired and the rage when the first arc was shown to be more about living in an MMO as opposed to brutal death game it looked to be at first.

I wish someone good would take another stab at .hack//sign style anime. For me it's been the only MMO anime to even remotely capture what people are like while playing MMOs. People afk in town. Trolling people cause they are bored. Escaping from their real life they don't want to deal with. The way you get to see some pretty real issues but almost exclusively from the side of the escapism rather than the problem was refreshing and it made those brief IRL scenes pretty powerful IMO. I also like that hack//sign technically is yuri even though thats irrelevant to the plot. The actual infection aura plot was mysterious and ok but not as interesting as the rest for me.

Every other anime that tackles MMOs is like log horizon or GGO alternative where everyone is having a great time and it's all running super smoothly and theres just infinite content and everyone IRL is either a murderous psychopath villain or a well adjusted nerd/waifu with like 20 friends IRL. That has not been my experience online. I've met people that were almost exact copies of the entire .hack//sign cast at various points.

But I mean, there are parts of SAO with actually good writing. That's whats so baffling. It feels like I'm seeing a complete amateur with real unpolished talent given a huge budget way before he is ready for it. I'm rather fond of his technology and world building. I think it's probably the most realistic version of the near future in sci-fi (both SAO and accel world minus the battling and time stopping powers). Something like psycho pass is maybe more interesting of a setting and the writing of the first season at least is consistently good, but I doubt the real world will ever see anything like it.

The writer's biggest problem IMO is he has no idea how to write any kind of villain besides worst possible human being murderer psychopath rapist. All his villains could be main characters in hentai, I think that sums it up. A bit ironic because his first villain isn't actually like that. I enjoyed the mystery and odd detached obsession behind whatever his name was (kayaba?).

The writer also just seems unable to reach his relatively strong story moments intelligently. A tie between kirito and first villain resulting in the game ending before kirito is actually killed is a very strong finish IMO, but the bullshittery used to get there kind of ruined it and that sort of thing is rampant throughout SAO. In the current season the actual war was really cool but the set up around it is so flimsy. When they got the phone call from the outside in the sub control room it's like what the fuck, you can literally call out to the outside world but you just didn't?!? Then they proceed to forget they have that capability immediately after they hang up.

I've been thinking of rewatching SAO and watching the newer stuff. Though, Vinland Saga definitely comes first. I'm through 5 eps of it so far. It's a bit slow, but interesting so far. I have a foreboding feeling about bad things happening to Ylva, but I hope that's not going to happen.
The show picks up pace right after where you are. New SAO stuff kind of sucks but the action is pretty cool and they at least throw enough nonsense at you to stop it from being boring most of the time.

Watched newest season of SAO and what a weird ending point. It basically doesn't have an ending. You'd think another episode is coming next week if outside sources didn't say it's the last episode of this season with it returning for another cour in spring. Poor choice IMO.

SAO has to be the most consistently inconsistent anime of all time. Some parts are legitimately cool and even clever sometimes but then some parts are just so bad and stupid. This entire scenario they have set up just falls apart at even the slightest amount of thought.

Why would a superuser account not have access to a virtual console? Why would ALO character data not be backed up? Why would no one just report these fuckers to the press and government? How the actual FUCK does the turtle sub control room have a phone line to the outside world but they aren't using it to call for help from the other ship whose only excuse for not intervening is that they assume the crew was taken hostage which is demonstrably false? How can other people log into underworld despite not having STL devices? How can they not shut off outside connections to a remote server in the middle of the ocean? Why do they pretend like ECM doesn't exist? Why would a locked out console even be able to access user accounts? Why do grunt humans even bother fighting when knights are essentially WMDs? Why not put archer guy on a dragon and load him up with like 5k arrows? Why would a superuser account not have access to teleportation? For that matter can't they just take asuna out and then relog her on top of vecta as many times as they want? Why a lot of things.
