Regular Switch fees like a way better buy unless you're only looking for a handheld. I really dislike playing portable versus on an actual screen so the lite was really never for me.

CV might benefit from a remake but once you reach RE4 there's no point. That game is already perfect as is and has aged like wine compared to the PS1 trilogy.

This topic makes me happy! Good sound design is such a huge component in making truly exceptional games stand out but I feel like people barely pay it any mind most of the time.

KH3's bosses are super weird specifically because of the Arendelle boss, which Bane already pointed out. Next to that fight, almost all of the other encounters short of MX himself feel really quickly slapped together. Seems we're getting more of that style of fight in the dlc based on the trailer, so that's cool at least!

I find it both hilarious and kind of sad that after all the FF character outcry they're being sold as paid dlc. I'd be lying if I said all those fights don't look hype though, even as someone who largely found KH3 to be disappointing.

More than anything, it's kind of interesting that this all seems to be a second pass at the climax, making it bigger and more bombastic when really people had relatively few complaints about that section compared to everything else. Guess this might at least fix Nomura's crash and burning with both of the female characters.

Even with the most recent Bond run only 50% have been good movies thus far. That's a failing grade!

Chapter 8 has almost nothing in the way of story. Chapter 9 does have a story but it's entirely extra and not really related to the 1-7 plot.

I think it's important to make the distinction that you beat the game at chapter 7. Chapters 8 and 9 are purely bonuses. (9 didn't even exist until a couple months ago.) With that in mind I think the hearts being crazy obtuse brain busters is totally fine.

I really disliked this game when I played it at launch. Not sure if it's gotten better but it felt like easily the worst of Cygames' offerings and I wonder how much Nintendo's mobile influence had to do with that.

You actually don't need any hearts to finish the story! They're all for post game stuff, including the very recently released extra chapter dlc which does have a bonus story in it. You'll need all the hearts for that one.

6 co-op is a blast and mechanics wise it's actually an excellent tps/action game mechanics-wise. It just doesn't focus on like, any of RE's traditional strengths.

While I'm on RE opinions, this one is a colder take but REmake is one of the closest examples of a perfect video game as I've ever seen in my life. Sets out what it means to do darn near flawlessly while both being an incredible game on its own AND faithfully recreating a classic with plenty of fresh twists.
