You don't have to drive manual.
Knowing how it works and knowing how to drive manual just serves as a learning experience to figure out how the car works.
A lot of people who don't know how gears work will make some terrible mistakes.

It's the humidity when it's hot and cold winds, rain or snow when it's cold.

4% -> 25 kills per drop on average

Since you can kill 4 smaller ones at once, then 4% should be better if no other mechanics are involved.
Assuming that it killing smaller ones takes the same amount of time as the bigger one.

But if you just need a couple of those items, I'd go with the 8% chance.
