TopicC/D: It's reasonable that someone is treated differently based on their clothes?
Moonjay

It's an understandable reaction but you have to be careful with that shit. Like the stories of fairies who appear to be old homeless women and then curse you for turning them away, people aren't always who they appear to be.

Rich people can dress like they're poor. Intelligent people can dress like thugs. Someone in the most outlandish clothes you've ever seen may be the most grounded person just having fun.

Unless I'm in a situation where I'm alone and/or feel threatened, I'm friendly to anyone and judge them by their behavior if I interact with them.

Using a roll eyes meme at an established fact is weird.

Yeah, little kittens are hard to sex. It was already covered, but in addition to the distance between the holes, the lower hole on females look like a slit and the boy hole is more round.

I never trust my gendering until it's testacle time though. XD

Kittens are dumb little babies and it can definitely be hard to get them to eat what they're supposed to eat. Good luck with that.

The 50% divorce rate is a pervasive myth that was never true.

My husband and I definitely went the cheap way both because we didn't care and couldn't afford otherwise. We bought each other cheap rings, paid a filing fee for the legal marriage, listened to a dude's speech about marriage at the court house before signing everything, and went to lunch at Jack in the Box. Where I proceeded to get him blamed for something he didn't do, heh heh.

When it comes to soulmates I definitely think people are crazy. You can never meet someone who is perfect and soul bonded to you right away. You can only find compatible people and then develop into true mates over time.

I don't think people are more likely to break up from getting married. Having children is actually one of the biggest things that breaks people up. Haha.

I figure people who will stay together will stay together regardless of legal status.

On a separate note, my parents were never married and I'm a bastard. They had an on again off again relationship for a long time but they've been a solid couple for the last like fifteen years. They sort of can't get married for government assistance reasons and probably would never bother anyway... But they're about as married as anyone else is.

I mean there are tons of reasons. Some people prefer to date forever but live separately. Some people want to be really really sure before they get married. Some people don't give a damn about the concept of marriage. Some people are afraid of legal commitment but not of personal commitment.

And yes, there are cases where not being married can be better. Like I could potentially get better health care at some point if I divorced my husband, because then I'd be legally poor enough to qualify for some things. My doctor has suggested it before.

Or someone doesn't want to share someone else's debt. Or lots of things.

And yeah the wedding license being signed by the appropriate person is the only thing that matters legally.

I sort of saved myself for marriage.

I'm not morally against casual sex but it personally horrifies me. I was never interested in risking pregnancy, disease, or worse (being a woman is fun!) with anyone I wasn't totally devoted to. I was also totally sure I was forever alone before I met my husband.

I wasn't exactly pure by the time we got married, but true sex was definitely after marriage and my husband is the only man I ever so much as kissed. :P

Six. I've lived with cats all my life. They're amazing pets. It's a shame so many people are ignorant about them.

"You don't own cats; they own you."

Fuck off with that bullshit please.

I've had cats all my life and identify as a CAT PERSON but I have no problem with that saying. Cats do kind of own you as much as you own them. It's more of a give and take relationship.

What pisses me off is when people say a cat who is friendly or plays fetch is "like a dog". No, they're not like a dog. They're like a cat. Cats are loving and dogs don't own the fucking game of fetch!

Poll related.

It was indirect, but I owe my entire adult life to a video game. If I had never played Lunar Silver Star Story I never would have met my husband on the AOL message board for that game. If I had never met him, I'd probably be dead or at least wishing for death. Hooray for Lunar! :P
