I voted "Good, but pales in comparison to the first one", though that seems a bit heavy-handed. They're much closer than one overshadowing the other. The first one is the better of the two, I feel, but that could also be nostalgia talking. It wasn't leaps and bounds better though.

I voted "The Sword In The Stone" even though Mulan is my favorite movie of those. I just feel like it would be the most interesting to see re-done in this fashion.

Yes, it can be funny even if you're not in a medical field. I know plenty of people that love the show that have never even considered working in the medical field.

I'd like to have no hair at all. I already use a hair trimmer on setting one for my head. I'd have to get used to being baby-faced again since I currently sport a beard, but I'd get used to it. Also, less maintenance...elsewhere.

I voted "Suggest that all female employees have a dress code of skimpy bras and underwear in every gas station" because suggesting something could easily be kept on the down low where as demanding and screaming cannot. Plus, a suggestion is just a suggestion, so I can potentially just shrug it off as a joke when people stare me down.

make sure you're using light strings right now. Heavier strings are harder on your fingers.

My shitty old guitar had light strings on it but they were all gross and worn out and it was missing the bottom two strings. I replaced them with medium-light 80/20 brass strings yesterday. It's harder on my fingers but I like the sound better

Yeah, I use medium strings for the most part, and only go heavier for certain tones. I was just thinking the lighter strings would be easier on your fingers, especially if you're just starting out. They do sound much worse though - you're right on that...especially when you start getting into harmonics and such.

Man, my finger tips hurt.

That'll go away soon enough. If you're playing as much as it sounds you're playing, you'll build up your calluses in no time. Also, and I'm assuming you already have (most new guitars come with these), but make sure you're using light strings right now. Heavier strings are harder on your fingers.

What kind of guitar: Acoustic or electric? Also, what kind of music are you interested in playing? Tips and recommended videos will differ depending on what it is you're trying to accomplish.

If you're looking at punk or "modern rock", power chords are easy to learn and are used extensively.

If you're looking at quick ways of making things sound more complicated than they are, keep learning chords and then just play them string by string. This is also a good way to learn string spacing.

When teaching new players, I often figure out what they're struggling with most: Rhythm, hand placement, or string spacing. Figure out which one's the most difficult for you and then force yourself to practice in a way that builds up your muscle memory to get past that hurdle.

Good luck and have fun! While practicing will make you better, it's also nice to have a few songs to go to whenever you're getting frustrated - easy songs that are just fun to play. Never let a wall stop you from enjoying the journey. :-)

They are randomly generated numbers generated just to place them on the field?

I don't think they're completely random. The most popular characters tend to be ranked one or two in their bracket.

Bump cuz I gotta make a choice TODAY

@KLOUDrocks

What kind of things did you guys do in ES?

I realize I'm a bit late, but I didn't log into the site again until now.

We discussed a lot of the environmental issues that face the world now and will face in the future if current trends continue (such as a limited amount of clean water), as well as things we - both as a community and on a personal level - can do to help. We looked at potential futures and what would need to happen in order to meet those futures. We also discussed politics a bit and how legislature affects the environment, though "politics" was definitely not a focus of the class. My instructor was part of a UN board for the environment (I can't remember the exact board right now), and he shared a lot of the interesting projects that people were doing to help discover more about the world and to help solve some of the environmental issues that plague it. There's a lot of neat stuff out there.

Currently wait-listed, should I just give up?

A friend of mine, who happened to be an RA, mentioned simply showing up to the class anyway. Most likely, a student on the list will not show up. If you're there on day one, the instructor will remember that and may "bump" you to the top of the waiting list so that you'll be officially in, assuming that student doesn't show up the next week either.

My Environmental Science course was significantly more entertaining than my Sociology class. Could have just been the teacher though; he was so excited about the field and that excitement spread throughout the classroom. We watched a bunch of TED Talks and discussed a lot of the things that we could do on a personal level to help the planet a bit. The stuff I learned in that class, I still use today. I didn't learn too much in Sociology, but I've always been good with people and understanding patterns so I don't know if I had much I could learn from an intro class.

Also, I'm surprised "omelet/omelette" (depends on where you're from) wasn't on there, as it's one of the most popular options for eggs, I feel.

I also thought scrambled was. Though, I did think omelet was a close second...

No, I agree that scrambled is likely the most popular style of egg. However, it was already on the list, whereas omelettes were not.

Voted scrambled, because I like to make breakfast wraps and I use scrambled eggs in them.

Also, I'm surprised "omelet/omelette" (depends on where you're from) wasn't on there, as it's one of the most popular options for eggs, I feel. Hadn't even heard of scotched eggs before.

Maybe it's a regional thing.
