They can't call them both mom and they can't call them mom #1 and #2 and they're not going to call one dad. i don't want to ask them in case its rude but whats the kid going to call them so what happens in conversation? you can't say like "Is this present for your dad?" "No it's for my mom." it becomes "Is this present for your mom?" "No it's for my mom" or like "so whose picking you up from school?" "mom is" well who is mom? do they just use firstnames? Because that seems pretty rude for kids to their parents. i never thought about this before. --- |

But they're different now. How much do you know about Mass Effect? Only what people tell me. Isn't it a create your own adventure game? Of a sorts. Have you heard any of the controversy the series' conclusion has created online amongst its fanbase? No. What happened? After spending hundreds of dollars and hours of investment into the trilogy, a significant proportion of the fans feel that it's ending was disappointing, nonsensical, not what was advertised didn't represent the choices the player was told to make throughout the story. As a result they have asked for a new different downloadable ending to replace the original. This has led to a divide between them, the people who liked the ending as it is and the people who disliked the ending but don't want a replacement. That's just stupid. If they want a new ending why can't they have one? Many feel that it would damage artistic integrity. Is it okay for fans to tell artists and creators what to put in their work? Why not? *Chuckle* Great Expectations is one of the greatest novels ever written but Charles Dickens altered the ending at the request of his friends who told him it was too sad. I strongly recommend reading the novel and both endings. They are both beautiful and nearly everyone has a different opinion the pros and cons of them. I don't understand how this is different. Unless people are asking for the old ending to abolished, what's wrong with an optional secondary one? Even if you loved the original ending why would it be tarnished from a different one existing? I suppose Charles Dickens and Great Expectations had no integrity? Another issue people have is that a downloadable second ending implies an incomplete game which requires additional off-disc content to be complete. This would be especially an issue if they charged for a new ending I don't play the games but I don't understand. How does a new ending make the game less complete? Surely either it already feels incomplete as it or it doesn't And I assume it costs time and money to create the game? So why wouldn't they charge for it? If you want it then pay for it. If you're happy with what you have then don't. Sounds like business to me. If I made this decision I'd make the new ending, it sounds like a great way to make money Well the solution Bioware who make the Mass Effect series have deiced is to make a free downloadable extended ending which aims to fix some major plot-holes and offer more closure That's a bad idea What makes you say that? Well surely the fans who like the ending don't want it to be changed at all and the fans who hate the ending don't want to see a longer version of what they already hate? When Arthur Conan Doyle was met with an outcry and debate over whether or not to revive Sherlock Holmes or keep him dead, he wrote The Hound of the Baskervilles which made made a fortune and now is regarded as a classic. He didn't rewrite an extended The Final Problem that went into even more detail about how Holmes died. That wouldn't have appeased anyone. There are many people who didn't enjoy Saruman going to the Shire at the end of The Lord of The Rings and so when they made the feature film it was never in the script. They didn't create an extended part were he is there for even longer You keep comparing games to books. Do you think that's fair? They're different mediums. Probably not but I don't know games... *chuckle* and I wouldn't mind additional downloadable parts of books if they were made by the same author. --- |

That's why Assault on Arkham was better, they never tried to play off Harelyquin or anything the Task Force did as heroic. --- |
