There's good people and bad people on all sides of this debate. That has always been the case and that's always going to be the case.

I used to be on this team before 2016.

But I think you look at what the GOP Platform and the causes it advances (LGBT, Women) as well as the practices it has now embraced (Child Separation) and if you still support them that's just not defensible. "They're in it for tax cuts" is not a defense, and if anything reflects poorly on them.

If you want to break into nuance:

1. This refers to people who still support the GOP. I know people who abandoned it and switched parties after 2016. This does not include "Never-Trumpers" because they're still backing the GOP in what it seeks to do and has done.

2. You can draw a distinction between - for lack of better terms - "good" and "nice." You can be a "bad" person but still be "nice" to people you personally know/your community. But what you're implying sounds to me an awful lot like absolving them for supporting policies that I just don't think are indefensible.
