They liked it. However, one of my cats ate some grass that had been sprayed. He became fatally ill. He would have died a horrible death without the quick medical intervention and care. I had to syringe feed my poor sickly cat every other hour for days to prevent his organs from shutting down. Because of something outside that was impossible for me or the cat to see. The vet was amazed he pulled through. My cats now stay inside, until I can move somewhere and make them a catio. --- Never write off the Doctor! |

You'r own personal "issues" don't change that. Nothing more to say. Birds have their feathers pulled and are kept in cages unable to fly. That's far worse than an indoor cat. Or you want to talk unnatural cruelty, look at animal agriculture. There are several cat breeds that cannot live outside and should never be outside. Every outdoor access cat my family has had ultimately met some very nasty premature death that was completely avoidable. Not to mention all the animals the cats themselves killed. Song birds are dying in droves care of outdoor cats. It's not the same in the UK where cats have few risks. It's flat out illegal to let your cats out in many municipalities here. --- Never write off the Doctor! |

Using a litter box becomes difficult plus, they develop mental issues just as elderly people do. My elderly cat quit using the litter box a few years ago and he just uses puppy training pads now. Any change in urination behaviour calls for a vet visit. Especially male cats. --- Never write off the Doctor! |

Often, cats that refuse to litterbox due so because their owners fail to clean it to their standards. If you are keeping that thing spotless and the cat is still going outside, take it to a vet... unless it is a male who is just spraying. Spraying is an entirely separate behaviour from urination. Cats don't start to spray in their old age. They do often start soiling outside of the box when they have health issues --- Never write off the Doctor! |

He's only been around one so far at the vet but he was shaking and didn't want any part of it. She was just a little beagle puppy too. It's so odd since he came from a big litter and was with the mom and dad until 7 weeks when we got him. 7 weeks is much too young to separate as far as socialization goes. Even 8 weeks is the youngest suggested for weaning. Dogs separated earlier tend to have serious socialization issues --- Never write off the Doctor! |
