I went to a K-8 school that is surprisingly still up. The building is now 124 years old. When I was there it was a bit rundown and when I was in 7th grade they finally got a grant to cover all the exposed asbestos. My high school is still up but that its only 85 years old.

I don't know that it was ever really much of a thing. Miami is the only other place I remember in remotely recent memory.

The Raiders are moving to Vegas so there's no "probably" about it.

I remember it not being too rare to see it when I was younger

Yeah, when I was younger it was more common to see. The Packers would play in Milwaukee at the Brewers' old stadium three times per season.

One he told them to leave the sign. Not much supplies to leave a note that could also get lost. He didn't know how long he'd be gone for.

Many tribes were fighting with each other, so trusting outsiders is not a wise thing to do. Plus, looking at the history between some of the local tribes and colonist was not the best, to go to new comers and say, "Hey we're over here is not the wisest".

Also the next few colonist that came were part of a charter and had to do things a certain way as part of their agreement. Exploring inland was not the safest for them and really not suggested. It wasn't until many years that they explored further inland. At which point, whatever tribe the may have integrated with may also have moved further inland without any knowledge of new colonist arriving.

ugh....I just can't get over them not trying to leave a note or something.

if it wasn't for that, I would say they went to live with the natives. but the note thing is just a big huge thorn to me. I can't get over it. it makes zero sense to me that they didn't put any real effort to leave a messae behind explaining themselves. or try to come back someday and reconnect. even if they wanted to stay, send 1 guy as a messenger to run over to a town and say what happened

to me, it breaks the story when they don't explain their fate. that's why I think that it must have been against their will, whatever happened. that's why I suggested being murdered. not cause I think all native americans are killers. but it's just something that makes more sense than a bunch of people running into the wilderness never to be heard from again

People abandoned colonies and never returned fairly frequently. They probably didn't think anyone was coming back.

Once again, this. Plus, it took John White several years to make it back with the much needed supplies. The colonists left a sign just as he instructed them to do. There were too many tribes for him to try and figure out which one the colonist integrated with, in the time he was allotted to check for them.

obviously it was a shitty colony and they wandered off with the natives for survival. did they not prove that already?!

They have proven that the natives in those areas had children with whites around the same time that colony would have been around, but I guess technically they didn't prove it.

This. Plus most evidence that had been found points to the residents leaving peacefully and becoming part of one of the tribes further inland.

I still like the idea of replay in baseball but I don't understand why it currently takes so long. They should have eyes on every game so that when the umps call in, some people have already been looking at the replays and they can make their verdict in 30 seconds like everyone watching on TV can. I don't know if that's how they already do it, but it feels like they have room to streamline whatever their current process is.

I too like the idea of replay, but I agree with why it takes so long for a verdict. Plus as previously mentioned half the time the call is wrong and not even by a small margin.

When I was at the Mall of America earlier this summer they were promoting a VR place that would have a ghostbusters game and a Star Wars one. My youngest wanted to try it but it wasnt opened yet.

There is a science museum here that has a vr experience. One of the experiences is fixing Star Wars droids. It was pretty cool. My son got further along than I did because I threw one of my tools across the room and in this vr experience we are limited in movement of about 3 foot circle.

It could be the city. I got notified that this summer (letter in the mail at beginning of the summer) that teams of high school age kids were hired to check the conditions of garbage and recycling carts and to leave notes on ones that were deemed in need of replacement. We would then have to call the number for a replacement. It is dumb that they just didn't put in the order as they checked them, but whatever.

Well I hope at least one of them can make it cause they are the only hope for sports topic teams. I'm not sure we ever had a season where nobody's team made the playoffs

Edit: Okay I almost forgot about the Brewers but Wii3Kings doesn't post all that often

Yeah, the Brewers tend to be forgetable this time of year. The owners like to pretend that they need to be patient in order to build a team that can make the playoffs several years in a row. When realistically they will never be such a team and have to go all out one year to win just one championship. Otherwise, '82 will remain the year that I've seen the team go the furthest.

I did a quick search online about pricing and it looks like they are offering a family membership for $35 a year. I am not sure if it is really necessary, the website makes it seem like it will be needed but I think if I get the individual it should be enough for my kids to use.

Unless everyone playing the game locally will have to have an account to play against another group outside the home.

The premise of that list is kind of shit.

But my "childhood" in gaming was second gen (ColecoVision and Atari 2600) and third gen (NES). More specifically, I'd say I spent from around age 6 to age 12 with my Coleco/Atari, and 12-16 with the NES.

Fourth gen into fifth gen (PS1) was high school and college for me, with sixth gen (PS2/Xbox) starting just post-college.

Seventh gen (360) didn't really officially start for me until I was in my mid-30s. By eighth gen (PS4) I was almost 40.

My cousins had Atari, we had the Oddysey 2 so I played that most as a kid. I much preferred the arcades though because those games seemed more intuitvie than the Oddysey or Atari games.
