It is weird to blame all the deaths in WWII on Hitler when Stalin and other Axis powers had already started genociding people before the war started. Unless you feel the people they killed during the war should be credited to Hitler because they happened during the war.

Now you see, I've never had that experience with their games. Yeah, KOTOR 2 ran a little slow at times, New Vegas I had the same issue, but beyond that, I've really enjoyed all their games I've played and beyond slowdown, never had it crash or become unplayable.

Funny thing is that Obsidian's problem games, and their reputation as a result (releasing buggy, unfinished games), can be traced back to the publishers (Bethesda and Lucas Arts) putting unrealistic timeframes on the games' launch window. Bethesda gave Obsidian only 18 months to do a fully fleshed out Fallout game, and Lucas Arts ended up cutting 6 months off the expected development window to make some sort of arbitrary deadline. Games without these constraints ran and played just fine.

Yeah, see, I thought that too, but then Chris Avellone spilled the beans that no, it was Obsidian's upper management being shit at managing projects and making unrealistic promises to the publishers.

My retention rate so far is probably a good 60%, if I'm being generous. I definitely need to keep working on my Anki flashcards. I've actually been delaying working on my vocabulary and grammar for the past 3 weeks because I dread spending 2-3 hours on them everyday like I did with the kanji. I don't know if it was a good idea, but I can't stop now >_>

You should lower the interval modifier. You want to strive for a retention rate of about 80 percent for optimal time efficiency (i.e. least number of reviews you have to do per day). There's an equation in the anki manual showing what you should change your interval modifier to in order to hit a target retention rate. You just need to plug in your current retention rate and your target retenion rate into the equation.

log(desired retention%) / log(current retention%)

So log(80%) / log(60%) = 0.44, so you change the interval modifier to 44% in that specific deck and your retention rate should theoretically rise to 80% over time.

"too many cards" isn't the worst problem you can have, as long as you're not carding pointless stuff that you remember without trouble. If you easily remember something with only a few exposures to the card, it's probably not something you should have carded in the first place. That varies a lot since you have no idea what your brain is gonna be good at remembering at any given time, but it will at least help cut down on the pile or help you cull it a bit if it seems overwhelming.

The issue is mostly I've been neglecting my grammar in favor of adding new words. On the positive, since my vocabulary is so big (relatively speaking), every time I learn a new grammar point it's basically an eureka moment where my understanding of the language seemingly skyrockets.
