i can't answer this by saying either that i believe that there is or that i believe that there isn't.
but if i were made to bet, i would go with yeah there is. from what they tell me, the universe is just too big and too old. and there's no reason to think that life, including 'intelligent' life, should be unique to this quaint little rock.
