The fan base takes the show more seriously than it takes itself, so just enjoy it for what it is

Pretty much this. There's a lot of creative writing and an underrated universe that ties into the whole thing that is impressive for an animated series.

Just don't think into it too much and give it like 3 or 4 episodes.

Honestly, when I played, the duplication rate of items almost made me want to just not even care about the crates anymore. I got the same common clothing item 6-7 times over before finally getting a rare or whatever.
