Captain Marvel was a character to compete in the business with Superman. His powers originally started on the Moon, but in later comics it was changed to Mars.cp

DC sued and won the rights to Captain Marvel.

His most notable appearance was in Kingdom Come, a fantastic comic that is still cheap to buy today. (i strongly recommend it, no prior comic knowledge needed, completely stand-alone)

Captain Marvel was changed to Shazam, and was voiced by a Hobbit (Sean Astin)

At least my memory of him 20 years ago.

From what I heard, watching on a regular basis seems to make it much more enjoyable than CN's scheduling. Like watching Infinity War with 1 hour commercial breaks at random spots in the movie.

I had watched them streaming and I must say the last 3 seasons were top notch being able to watch them a steady pace.

Pro Evoltuion Soccer over FIFA is another I get people telling me. From what I heard PES is the lesser of two evils if you had to give someone money. I am surprised an indie developer hasn't tried to make a solid sports game besides Rocket League. Steam has some clever soccer games though, like one that is more of an RPG as a turn-based soccer game with experience, one that takes a humorous route, and one that tries to make an old pick-up-and-play SNES style soccer game.

^ Best find it quick, distributors may only have enough to last another month or so until PlanB's next reprint. MSRP is $40, so you should easily find an online store that sells it for less than $40. Edit: Nope nevermind, Amazon is already at $39.95 and vendors will probably scalp the price like an NES classic.

Now I don't have to have hundreds of kids keep asking me about special conditions in Pokemon. I just print out a crapton of these bad boys and pass them out like candy to all the newbies. Hopefully The Pokemon Company will get rid of the un-intuitive "rotate" thing and just have icons for all the conditions for consistency :)

What would you like to see change in the Pokemon card game?

One big thing that is about to hit is a card game that gets rid of rarity by having you buy complete decks. No two decks are the same, and you cannot swap cards in the deck (each deck has a decklist). This means you can't get your ass kicked all the time by someone who spent $2,000 on cards. Its made by the same guy who made Magic: the Gathering.

In an MMO I was part of a Thieves Guild. One day we got a message calling all guild members to the roof of the thieves guild for an emergency.

A cow spawned on the roof of our guild. We all took turns petting and hugging the cow. Someone named it Fred. It was our new mascot of the Thieves Guild! Fred the thieving cow :3 We all decided to throw a party on the roof with people dropping food and water items, and some guild members even dropped some cool loot for anyone to pick up!

Then one member jumped out of the shadows and decapitated the cow. The end.

Good ol' Blokus! Shame Mattel owns them now :(

At this camp they played Pandemic, Castle Panic, Magic Maze, an Escape room with lateral thinking puzzles called Exit, Mysterium, Codenames, and Spyfall.

Most preferred Pandemic oddly enough, as you would think your average kid would prefer a Plants Vs Zombies kind of game or a wacky D&D speed game. Exit was the least favorite, kids prefer their parents to help with escape rooms :)

Oddly enough, I have only done D&D groups with kids, no adults yet.

Most kids are great as (mentioned above) they like to find ways to break or circumvent rules, and many try to follow the story. However every kid I taught D&D to never played and RPG, so I only had one kid who only wanted to play for stats and numbers and would ignore everyone else in their party.

One interested encounter was when they visited the town of Phandalan, where they were supposed to find a missing Dwarf they had a deal with. Long story short, they fought a giant potato monster to get potatoes back to a potato farmer instead.

The first day was learning about good game design and bad game design.

Pandemic doesn't follow the sins of a board game:

1) It doesn't have player elimination

2) It gives you control, or the illusion of control, that you feel like your decisions matter and you aren't playing on auto-pilot.

3) Directly screwing over players for no reason

Hi, your friendly neighborhood kerred here!

This week I was running a youth group camp for cooperative board gaming. We had 12 kids sign up. Each day involving learning how to a play a new game and some little tidbits with various aspects of game design, interaction, meta, and etiquette.

Day 1: Background: Out of the 12 kids, their favorite video games mostly included Minecraft and mainstream Nintendo titles. Oddly no Fortnite players. One kid said he didn't like video games (probably only had exposure to Mobile gaming, so I don't blame him). Board game wise, most either didn't play board games, were into the mainstream like Monopoly, with two kids liking Ticket to Ride and Mysterium.

The first day was Pandemic, where they didn't go to the instructions once: i just taught the rules. They all made the usual mistakes

Different between kids and adults: Most kids will tend to make up rules in their head to solve problems. I don't know if this is just they haven't accepted the harsh reality of life yet, or used to video games that can make you do things that were not intended, or experiment through trial and error. But I don't find many adults doing this. When I give rules to adults, they only tend to work with the restrictions they are given.
