Both sides politicize murders to try and argue their points.

Although I would point out that when there's a shooting, the left immediately demands a bunch of new gun laws that they themselves concede would not, in fact, have prevented the shooting that just happened.

Meanwhile, when someone gets killed by an illegal alien, the right simply requests that existing law be enforced. No new laws necessary. And 100% would have prevented the actual crime that did just happen.

Not sure it matters to ESPN. Sports are zero sum. We as society wont let one fall without filling the vacuum.

Eh, they've got a lot of sunk costs and institutional capital in football though.

The odds of them coming out of it just as good if the NFL gets displaced by, say, esports, is low (although I know they're trying to invest in this).

Also it's totally reasonable for some random person who doesn't care about football to say "maybe it should die."

What annoys me are all the people out there whose careers are directly tied to football who are essentially agreeing with that statement. Like, how is Roger Goodell possibly this dumb? in the past there's always been some sort of justification like "you can't hit him in the helmet" or "you can't hit him in the legs" or whatever
