Actually he was known for refusing to tow the party line in some cases. I was reading his wikipedia article earlier, long before the Trump era, he actually butted heads with the George W. Bush administration quite a bit.

McCain did it when it was advantageous to do so, and it created the maverick persona that a lot of people still remember. But the flip side of that was sad stick in the mud McCain that basically became an establishment fingerpuppet, I.e. the entirety of his presidential election bid. McCain went from being one of the few republican politicians I could stand to just another face that was extra sad to watch getting toted around from place to place. I hated it.

But I didnt hate him, so much as hate hearing his whinging all through the Obama presidency. I actually feel kind of sad about this tbh.

for real, my buddy and i played BF2 in high school and we spent pretty much the whole time griefing people, it's kind of how the game was designed.

funny thing is that there were more realism based shooters around when BF1942 came out, they were called tactical shooters, like rainbow six, red orchestra, operation flashpoint, that shitty delta force game i used to play, etc

idk how many times i blew up helicopters my friends were trying to leave in. it never got old tbh

You don't seem to get it. He said that the simulator was its claim to fame which it was. How it was played doesn't matter. It's how people perceived it and it being the popular opinion. I can say Insurgency's claim to fame isn't a simulation because the guns don't jam. That's not realistic. That opinion is wrong because the majority considers it a simulation and that's it's claim to fame.

If you can't make sense in your brain that a game's "claim to fame" has nothing to do with press bites about the game being SO REAL and everything to do with what the people actually playing it do, then please leave the conversation. You are adding nothing and know nothing, and I would be surprised if you've actually played a BF game before at all.
