Way too long

Defeating the final boss is a massive pain and you have to do some absurd grinding to feasibly challenge him. Not only that, but reaching 999,999 kW only reinforces that grinding. You'll be doing the same short high-gain mission like 200-300 times all the while dealing with bad loading times and having to fight with bots to make it quicker (also because NO ONE ELSE IS ONLINE).

If you don't already have them and you don't really care to get the extra 767 TT points, then it's not worth it. It's boring, Comrades is not that good, and it doesn't really feel that rewarding cause all you did for 95% of the time was grind the same mission over and over again.

Was kinda looking forward to all those DLCs. They kept getting better each time, and even Episode Gladio was alright. Ignis was fantastic DLC.

Fuck Comrades, mode is trash and no one really cares about it. It just exaggerates all the problems of the combat system that the base game was good at hiding, and then introduces new problems.

being a non-competitive player I expect to get destroyed in the 1st round

1. Neutral game - know your character's movement, know safe moves to throw out and when to throw them out, know what your opponent is looking for, and know how to bait them to use it in a way that you can punish

2. Punish game - when you get your opening, how far can you take it? know combos, how to take advantage of stage control, how to edgeguard or ledgetrap the opponent, and know how to keep juggles going

3. Recovery - if you lose neutral, how do you get back to neutral or turn the tides entirely? know how to get back to stage when thrown off, know possible mix-ups you can do to throw the opponent off your path, know how to land back on stage when getting juggled

4. Spacing - what range does your character play at, and what range does your opponent's character play at? what moves can you use to keep your opponent out, or should you instead try to be in their face the whole time? know which of your characters' moves have sweetspots and where they're located

5. Mental game - do you start to get more predictable when your opponent has the lead? can you condition your opponent into doing certain things and then punish them for it? can you identify both the opponent's habits and your own habits?

Lack in any one of these areas and you don't win a tournament

Considering that you're non-competitive and haven't really played outside of 3DS days, you're gonna get bopped pretty quick.

Dean wants to be top dog. It's been brewing for months, fomenting for weeks. His brother has leukemia and it's back and it's a bitch. Roman's got a brave face and all the support, but who knows how hard of a struggle it's going to be? Life just slapped everyone in the face. You've got to make the most of the time you've got and the opportunities you have.

I like this take on it. It's definitely a heel turn carried out against Seth, a character who seems to have genuinely gotten past his days of being the villain, but it's still Dean looking out for Dean.

I do like a juicy heel turn timed perfectly like this.

When you don't ignore MWC, we still see his posts every time you quote it, and we still shake our head in disappointment and sadness when you try to argue with him. If there was a "ignore any and all posts related to MWC" option I'm sure we'd just use that and leave the rest of you alone, but as it is, anytime that MWC posts and gets a reaction from someone, it's as if we don't even have him ignored.

Plus, if you argue with MWC, you just enable him to say more outrageous and often offensive stuff. It's contributing to the problem.

I'm not sure I see a good reason not to ignore him at this point.

His multiple "guys guys look at me not really saying the terrible things I so obviously want to say" posts are saying everything for him.

I mean the simplest solution is to tell him to get help and then ignore him.

You know, actually, let me just sum up everything everyone is saying for you -

You will never get a definite answer on whether you should play this game. It's super polarizing. Some people think it's total shit and bad in every single way, while some people think it's pretty great and has a lot going for it.

If you already own it, play it and find out for yourself. That's the only way you're gonna find out if it's good or bad, because those are entirely subjective and this game in particular seems to split people right down the middle.

The linearity was done on purpose and it opens up late in the game on purpose. I thought it was used as a really clever story mechanic. It fucks with the pacing, but I thought how it was handled was really smart. Will not agree with anyone who complains about the level layouts as a bad idea.

I also don't entirely agree with the idea that you have to read through datalogs to understand the story. There's a couple moments where you might have to.

Battle system is kickass in the 2nd half of the game. Early on, it's a little autopilot, but if you legitimately think the game is entirely auto-playable, you're dead wrong. Each individual action is essentially replaced with quick paradigm shifts that you'll have to be very smart about for when the game stops being dead easy. Plus, I remember you do have to eventually start worrying about individual actions (rather than just the classes) as well if you want to shorten longer battles and prevent it from running too long

This round is a pretty good example of why she's annoying. The round starts with her showing off the long-range horizontal I mentioned, and then a long-range launcher that's safe on block as far as I can tell. Then the rest of the round (after Cervantes's cool CE hits) is the oppressive mid range horizontals and some really quick shorter range pokes. Makes it difficult for you to move at all against her.

I havent played online yet. What makes her frustrating? She isnt the only long range character.

IMO it's the oppressive mid-range horizontals, plus one long range horizontal that makes it dangerous to step when you're trying to come in. Also she has this one low stab attack that reaches from absurd distances and pushes you further back, and I believe she gets a break attack version of it when she uses soul charge that catches all rolls when you're on the ground.

Basically all these punks online keep running away and she's beatable but really frustrating to try and chase down, and then she's just quick enough up close that you can't be too oppressive with any rushdown. So it's like, stay on your toes or else get pushed back out to mid range where you have to play the "approach me" game again

I won the last few times I faced her online. She's not busted. Just not fun to fight.
