And yes...im actually being serious here. Sure. I've lived with clinical depression for about 25-26 years. My mother tells others that she hasn't seen me happy since I was still a pre-teen. Something like suicidal thoughts or attempts didn't happen with me until I was in my early 20s. This tends to happen when you've never had any friends and never felt like you belonged in any school or group. That tends to happen when you didn't have a father growing up, which was the case with me. This is further worsened when you take into consideration that I also grew up with an older sister who physically and mentally abused me. To reach a point in which you consider suicide usually comes after years and years of hopelessness. Sure, there are some statistical outliers where you see some teen jump off a bridge because he was bullied, but more often than not, depression is a slow-acting but very fatal poison that destroys you from the inside over the course of years. You see life as a zero-sum game, because zero good things have happened to you. I have also been afflicted with four years of insomnia. The eye bags convey this well. So...how's it like in a mental ward? The quintessential American. They see mental illness and crippling suffering like Vincent Price does with witches. They do not care about you, they offer no sympathy or empathy, and they couldn't give a shit about you in any reality they inhabit. If you're living in a world where every choice is bad, you have clearly fucked something up. There's a difference between voting for someone because you agree with most of what they say but disagree with some of what they believe, and voting for someone you actively hate and disagree with solely because you hate and disagree with the other choice more. A two-party system that pulls to the extremes and feels the need to choose opposed binary stances on every issue disenfranchises a significant majority of voters. Thats life. People arent perfect, you go with the best you can or you sit on the sidelines being frustrated and jaded, waiting for something that will never come. p sure there are levels between perfect upstanding citizen and absolute garbage trash human being though. yeah, go in expecting a perfect saint and you're gonna be pissed off, but it really shouldn't be out of the question to expect someone who isn't an absolute piece of shit, which is all we seem to have anymore.
