I disagree with Marth's being good. To me it was largely "reinforcement spam" and more often than not all 3 spawns were right next to each other so you instantly had a group of units to deal with.

And yeah, Takumi's GHB is my favorite for a reason. It's difficult, but it's difficult because of how the map is not because they put +20 in the enemies stats, have 3 reinforcements spawn near you every round, or both(Freaking Marth abyssal).

Crits were bullshit because you never could tell exactly how much it did to you if it killed you which made it hard to tell how much hp you needed to not die. Also the whole crit multiplier thing got pretty dumb later on. Especially when you're fighting a giant and crits go from "about 60% of your health" to "You get one shot"

I really hated deleveling because it stopped me from doing something I enjoyed when I reached a new level, goofing around on the PK server. Before dying(assuming you wasn't a PKer) wouldn't mean anything since you'd just started a new level anyway, but there was no way I'd risk going on if I could lose a level.

(Which is why v9 was the absolute worse to me. Forced GLOBAL PK and develing? Yeah no)

Ah yeah, exp loss on death. One of the worst old mechanics of mmos.

Some people still defend it as "It adds difficulty!" and "It gives you an incentive to not die!" and maybe it was fine 15 years ago, but these days we just don't have the time for that. Literally. Personally the ability to delevel is what kills it for me.

There was this really old mechanic that gave you some sort of boost if you died and haven't caught back up in exp. I don't remember all of it, but I remember a boosted crit rate. That was fun.

175? That's crazy! It was already a pretty insane grind with 120 Master then resetting to 60 > 120 Master.

Did they introduce a new "tier" or is it just 175M?

...Though I don't think I ever reached past... 90ish? Grinding without tickets to those bonus areas were insane, and those weapon upgrade rates were the worst I've ever seen even today.

Oh man, that brings me back. That game used to be an actually fun mmo since it had a fairly unique skill leveling method back then. A shame they changed it to a more traditional point system later on, as well as the game becoming more and more pay2win.

One thing that's really annoying about this Abyssal mode is just how long it's taking me.

When I fail it's not like turn 2 or 3 where not much happened. It's like turn 7+ after I almost cleared the map but got cornered and it's honestly exhausting.

I may have to resort to that f2p guide for Marth's Abyssal, because I'm just not seeing how to clear it on my own. Every time I get close, I end up cornered. Either there's 3-4 red units on the map(And Nino flatout can't handle the vantage red cav) or someone else is within range of another teammate(And I can't seem to get rid of Marth's buff bots once they spawn).

Flashing Blade Nino with AoE is fun btw. Maybe I'll make that a permanent seal for her since I almost never deal with archers these days anyway.

The issue Zam is that all three instances made you look suspect.

The first was a random who magically appeared to defend you giving up and claiming maf. "He took one for the team guys, stop being so mean!"... except I don't really recall anyone publicly being all that mean to you. If you got chewed out on the maf board, then that would beg the question why that user would know about it. Especially considering said user had a topic asking about you a couple of months old.

The second user was firebolt who went to the same private maf board as you. He also came in to defend you and chastised the players for "being toxic". Despite the fact that no toxicity was in public view.

And the last jerk was some random who decided to come along and say "Oh, FD is the last maf guys!" based off of no conceivable viable information.

I'm not saying "You're 100% responsible and I have absolute proof". What I am saying is that all three instances make you look incredibly suspicious, and that's the nicest way I can put it.

I have to say I absolutely loved the maf lawyer move. It was bold, risky, and honestly who would ever suspect maf to off their own detective like that? A shame said detective didn't get a chance to use their assassin but I imagine they knew the risk factors before hand.

Okay, 70 hp cleric with Panic Ploy seal is annoying because they're covering the one perfect spot for Nino.

Under the green mage and she's too far away to attack the sword next round(She fails to one shot the bow cav with what I'm running), under the knight and Marth obviously one shots her, and without DD she can't tank the bow cav after she's been in two fights.

Granted a change in moveset could be necessary. I'm also concerned because in Infernal I had the dancers tank hits... which is going to be harder since they're more than likely getting doubled in Abyssal.

I agree with the sentiment. Unfortunately, it's hard to recall that ever happening with me. Usually it's people who distort my argument into something it's not, or someone who starts off condescendingly who never had a plan to have a civil conversation in the first place.

What I meant to say is that I absolutely disagreed with John McCain regarding the war. It's incidentally not the only stance he took I didn't approve of. However, I still think it's disrespectful to talk poorly about the man so soon after he died. Talk shit about his stances, sure. The man himself... it just seems too soon for me.

Also I did a really silly thing and said Saddamn when I meant to say Osama bin Laden, so pardon the egg on my face.

I disagree that the stances I stated in this topic are ridiculous, though I'm not against having a discussion. I'm only human, and if someone feels that I'm mistaken they are free to comment why.

What I'm not a fan of is me being dismissed so casually, because that kills any potential for understanding(It's also quite rude, but I'm used to far worse).

I understand my stances can come off as harsh, but I sincerely believe that we have been far too lax when it comes to this sort of thing. It's a situation that should be taken with the upmost seriously, and I feel our lawmakers don't do that.

On the top of my head...

1. Make it so you can no longer legally buy or sell guns outside of an official gunstore. No Walmart, no gun shows, nothing.

2. Mandatory background check with no way to bypass. It's absolutely insane that it gets skipped if takes "too long". Background checks should take as long as they take. Additionally, background checks should be done in the most advance and effective way possible to minimize the chance of mistakes.

3. Mandatory training. If you're a dumbass, you don't need a gun. If you don't know what you're doing, you don't need a gun. In addition, one must take a yearly test to prove that they still know how to use a gun safely.

4. National gun registry. It's crazy that some states don't require this. If you buy a gun, it needs to be registered. If someone commits a crime with a gun under your name, that's your ass if you don't have a good justification. Guns aren't Pokemon cards, don't sell them to random assholes on Craigslist.

5. Limits on guns owned, and strict limits on ammo used. Unless you're in the army, you don't need the firepower to take down an army.

And if you commit any violent felony, you don't get to own a gun. Ever. If you're hurting someone, you have proven yourself to be untrustworthy.

I feel like we've been far too soft on this issue. We probably won't fix this in our lifetime, but if it's going to be fixed then we need to be strict about it.
