It's intriguing that, after a lot of heavy-hitting titles, you put a Gameboy Advance game in the bronze spot. I have never played this series, but you've certainly piqued my curiosity.

I'm doing a serial playthrough (includes Star Force) series on 220 (currently through BN1, BN2, and SF1, working through BN3, adding interest by inserting art book notes in with relevant write-ups). What I'm finding is that BN1 was horrible (knew that but didn't recall why) and that BN2 and BN3 are good but have substantial pacing issues even for their lengths (forced repetitive questing to pad chapter length). BN5 and BN6 don't really have those problems. In other words, my ranking might be:

9 BN1
8 BN4
7 BN2
6 SF2
5 BN3
3/4 BN5 / BN6
2 SF1
1 SF3

My take was that folks like Undertale for:
-deconstructions of perceived genre (medium?) norms (novelty, in other words)
-catchy (simple, that is) music
-Earthbound-style presentation
-close gameplay-narrative integration *I see encouraging replayability as a byproduct of this and not a design goal in and of itself. When trash mobs tend to be isolable from the cutscene material (see the first bullet), that creates some disconnect that veterans take for granted or do not challenge. This game stops to question these actions and takes the next step to make them meaningful narratively.
-being cheap? (and, therefore, accessible)

Honestly, I didn't enjoy it that much, either. I found the true ending requirements to be a little obscure, and they wrecked the pacing.
