Conservatives just have a huge persecution complex (which is what you'd expect, since we live in changing times and conservatism is literally the fear of change; also, Christianity is essentially a cult of persecution) that influences every aspect of how they think politically. It's why you hear things like "it's not safe to be a Christian/conservative anymore" and "having a family is the new rebellion against the system" and other such bs

It's important to remember that every way in which they say they're being bullied or persecuted is a way that they themselves pioneered.

I think it's their complete lack of self-awareness that's the culprit tbh. They literally don't realize when they are doing the same thing, as KILBOTz just described.
