TopicWhy on earth do people buy remasters of games they've played (e.g. Dark Souls)?

I didn't buy or like any KH game personally but it still shits on the point. KH3 happened because the audience stayed around long enough for them to get their act together and invest in full scale production.

Again, they had still been making other Kingdom Heart games, not only the remixes. People who play those game don't consider them as spin-offs either. I, for one, can more intelligently argue that not buying the remixes would show a disinterest for the same thing in a different outfit and spark the creators more towards making an new, original game. I'm not of the mindset to force other people to think a certain way, though. I've said what I wanted to, and that's all I desire.

Kingdom Hearts 3 would like a word.

They've been making Kingdom hearts games for years, and if you honestly think they made KH3 because people mindlessly bought the remixes, then I hope you're happy essentially paying $300 for one game. None of my business though, as long as it's quality.

Like, I wanna support the series in hopes we get another but most of the time I can't justify getting the game again when I have a perfectly playable version and a multitude of games I need to catch up on.

For example, I want to buy Okami HD b/c I want Okami 2 (Okamiden was alright), but I don't want to sink anther 40hr into it when I have a backlog of like 50 other games. So generally I just buy whatever I haven't yet played Remastered, like Yakua Kiwami.

This is still, and always will be the dumbest logic people have about video games. They are not going to make Okami 2 just because you bought the HD version of the first game, which came out 12 years ago by the way; that ship has sailed. If anything, why wouldn't they simply make Okamiden HD? Would you buy that, too? If they really wanted to make a sequel, they would have done it by now. One thing you do not want is for a series to be revived with the sole motivation being money instead of creating a good product.
