Timeline might be wonky? I know that the shows don't really always match up linearly in terms of when they were released. Might be that the some of the shows still take place before the events of IW (and even other parts of MCU).

Yeah that's a fair assessment - I think the MCU is pretty successful at the drama/humor balance, on the whole -- it's just specific scenes or so that just kinda hamstring the emotional moment. You have to let certain moments "breathe" and allow the viewer to not only feel the emotion but also examine it.

Agreed about the Civil War scene being Tony Stark in-character; the way I see it, his persona as the wise-cracking, sarcastic narcissist is his method of coping with the trauma of his upbringing and experiences. It's as much a suit of armor that he's built for himself as the Iron Man suit itself -- it's a layer that he never takes off. So it's much more meaningful when he actually *does* take it off, in the line where Stark says "I'm trying... to keep the Avengers from tearing apart!" It's delivered sincerely and intensely which Stark rarely does

Also, funnily enough... He used that Spiderman scene in the first minute or so in the movie, but I felt like those movies could have used a little more self-awareness. Also I just kinda dislike Tobey Mcguire lol

Funny you say this -- there was a video that came out around the time of Wonder Woman last year that compared WW's emotional sincerity to the tendency of MCU movies to undercut the emotional.

I happened to catch his first live concert for DAMN. at Coachella. Can confirm, was lit. I'll admit I'm not very much into rap -- was more into the electronic music stuff that weekend -- but I went with some friends and he made a believer out of me. Dude has a huge stage presence and excellent delivery

imo Singularity was a better album listen overall...But the first half of Immunity is godlike. The build from We Disappear through Collider culminating in Abandon Window is amazing

If you want a slower-paced game and/or are a fan of Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing type games, def check out Stardew Valley. I didn't play it myself but watched my girlfriend play it and it looks like a really pleasant game to play.

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson.

Heard about him ever since he finished up Wheel of Time for Jordan, but I haven't actually read any of his original work until now. About a third of the way through, I'm really enjoying it, especially all the various mechanics and applications of Stormlight. Pretty cool stuff.

Some small Fallout spoilers Vault 76 was one of the first vaults to open after the war. Also worth mentioning: Vault-Tec (the company that built all the vaults) used many of the vaults as human experimentation and research labs. Vault 76 was a "control" vault meaning no experiments were done with them.

The Ancient One's death scene with the slow-mo rain and lightning was one of the more beautiful scenes in the franchise, IMO. A quiet moment to contemplate the meaning of life in the context of death. I'm sorry to hear about that event TC, that must have been surreal to have to deal with that during this movie...

Also, I think Dr Strange's visual FX work was top-notch. The visualization of the arcane magic and such, with all the glowing/fiery glyphs was really fun to watch, and the mirror dimension shifty stuff was all wonderful eye-candy throughout the movie. For me it really helped solidify the dimension-bending characteristics of Strange's world.

I only ever did play Descent II, and I was actually quite young at the time, but that game was one of the cooler one of the '90s PC FPS games I played. I know some people get nauseous when playing a 6DOF shooter but for me it was just a really cool way to design a level.

idk, I agree that the early game can be frustrating when you don't have access to great weapons, but I got pretty used to it over time. I appreciate that it forced me to use different weapon archetypes (swords vs axes vs spears) and think creatively about how to take groups of mobs out efficiently using my whole arsenal (e.g., sneak attacks, using more arrows, bombs and other slate abilities, status boosting food, etc). I can't just barge into a camp swinging some shit around Leroy Jenkins style, it's just not worth it.
