If we're going to add flairs, this was honestly the one thing I'd want the most and we didn't get it.

The show is really good at making me go "What they did was wrong, but it was understandable" for a lot of the characters. Maybe it's just my personal experiences, but as far as awkward teenagers new to the idea of romance go, they're all pretty believable.

Just keep in mind I say this as someone who doesn't really read all that much at all anymore, and never went much into literature to begin with.

It's better to have a character show their frustration toward a society through rebellious or disrespectful attitudes than to have them monologue or soliliquize. It's boring to read about a character info dumping their beliefs and it treats the reader like a fool who can't tell what a character is like without being explicitly told.

I have zero clue what it is about other languages that cause people to throw such a shitfit. Like, if you're paranoid about people talking smack about you, people do that anyway; it's called whispering or even just talking out of your earshot. Do these people rage every time they see two servers move close to say something quietly to each other? Confront everyone in the street who does thsout out their conversations in English?

Like holy fucking shit I don't know how people like this survive

Item card shop? It's been a while. Ah, like buying new weapons with rupees? or?

It's an easier way to get those item cards that you need to reveal paths or mission rewards in Adventure Mode. Before you'd need to beat a tile containing the card but you can just skip that and buy it with rupees. You can only buy a card you've collected before.

My experience in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea would be that people either try to use the English they know or switch to more visual forms of communication. Why?

Preciate yours and the other answers.

Mainly just wondering how were treated over there. I know theres probably way too many to count that encounter awful shit like this here in America so just yah, kinda seeing what it would be like over there.

I worked at a restaurant and had to take a call as a manager from an old lady that was upset because her husband stood in line behind a Spanish chick that was speaking Spanish to my guy, who was from damn I cant remember but definitely spoke Spanish, taking her order. That was the worst phone call I ever had to deal with.

For Korea, Japan, and Taiwan, I was typically in more tourist-heavy places, so they're far more accommodating when it comes to English. It'd probably be different if you go to rural places where there's less exposure to English or people who can't speak the local language.

Hong Kong was a British colony, so English is taught in schools and most people know how to speak or at the very least understand it to some extent. I fell back to English a lot since my Cantonese is awful, but I didn't have trouble communicating.

It's rude for people in the service industry to speak to each other in a language customers can't understand. That's about the extent of it though. It's hardly a crime against humanity.

If they spoke to him in English, why should it matter what language they speak to each other in?

And if they were speaking to another customer In Spanish, I would assume one or both parties are more comfortable doing that, which I would personally consider an example of catering your service to the customer.

Is there a way to just hack everything and play it like a normal game and still have access to limited time events? Are limited time events hackable like in Pokemon?

the game is online only so no

Why is it online only? Arent there like single player bosses and story modes?

There are story modes and just about everything you face is AI-controlled, even arena, but it's just the nature of gacha games to do a server check for just about everything to make sure your data syncs up and that no one is cheating or manipulating the system.

The original Devilman was notable at the time for the subject matter and violence, but it probably seems a bit more tame by today's standards.

Devilman Crybaby is really well-animated and has great use of colours and designs but I'm still kind of torn on how I feel about the story. I guess I prefer things a little more optimistic.

Why are adjectives bad? Seriously, there's more than one way to say something. Language shouldn't be repetitive.

There's nothing inherently wrong with adjectives but they should serve a purpose. Like, "rippling arm" is implicit by the description of the person as a barabrian; you're not going to have some scrawny dude in battle, so it's an unnecessary description.

The swords should also be understood to be steel or at least some form of metal so using steel twice in the same sentence is not only repetitive, it's redundant. It's a matter of not needing to overexplain things and not treating the reader like an idiot.

sigh and the acting is bad. even for the series. they aren't even trying to over act like in older games. at least that was funny and had a certain charm. so far, everyone seems to sound bored.

One of the voice actors said on Reddit that they were really strapped for time and often only had one take to do something, and weren't given pronunciation guides or anything. That last bit is really noticeable because in a single conversation you might hear a name said three different ways.

Zikten posted...
I heard the story is supposedly the best and most detailed it's ever been. but the acting.... I wonder if Japanese is any good.

I'd probably have enjoyed the presentation a bit more if it wasn't broken up by painfully long and boring travel times and battles that last about 15 seconds if you go straight for the enemy commander, which is easy with a grappling hook or literally just running past the rest of their army.

It's a deeply flawed game. I can appreciate trying something new with an open-world, but it just didn't work and the battles are uninteresting and either on hills, in castles, or plains.
