Listen the sad reality is that you're not gonna make the money back with gifts. People are typically cheap and don't like going to weddings. It's considered an inconvenience these days. Yes family will and SHOULD come through for you guys but again...if your immediate family is contributing towards the wedding then that's their gift to you. Don't expect much more in the way of cash. Also you'll be surprised by how badly your friends screw you on the gift and give the bare minimum. It's a real eye-opener. The other disappointment of weddings is that as the royal couple, you don't really get a chance to really enjoy it. Too much of the day is spent on staged pictures and making your way around greeting all the guests. You barely get to enjoy the open bar or food that's served. It's an exhausting, whirlwind of a day. And if something goes wrong, it can put the groom or bride in a bad mood for the entire event. --- It's what's best for business. |
