Dude, this show was way ahead of its time

The jokes were smart, the music was catchy, the animation was great (well when they had their A studio doing it), and it was honestly just hilarious

Also, the amount of serious subjects it actually touched on was actually impressive, but they still did it in a fun way that kids could relate too and they did it sparingly. I can list 10 off the top of my head, but I'm sure there was a lot more

Plus "How I Spent My Vacation" was the best direct to video ever.

Not only one of the greatest cartoons of all time, but one of the greatest shows of all time imo and aside from some dated jokes, it still holds up incredibly well

I still love it and its probably in my top 10 of all time. It will suck when it finally ends

That's not to say it doesn't have its problems though. A big one in general is they pad way too much stuff. As much as I've really enjoyed Negan, that should have resolved itself last year. If it extends into next season I'll be mad

The locations, action, and a good amount of characters are still top notch though for the most part

That's good to know. Even if we can't get reservations I think we could just set up at this one campsite that doesn't need them and head out to a new trail each day. We won't get to do one continuous hike, but that's not a deal breaker

Looking at 4 or 5 days

I kinda know what trails we want to hit (but wouldn't mind hearing about other peoples hike), but could use some info on the camping aspect. It seems you can't just camp anywhere, but you have to do so at designated campsites that need a reservation.

It seems there is one campground set aside for people without a reservation though.

On your trip did it seem like you could access all the trailheads by car? Or atleast the most popular trails?

Well I dont know about the friend situation as I have a close group of about 10 and thats all I care for, but you should never be too old to enjoy life.

Im in my early 30s and do more stuff now than I ever did (and thats with a wife and kid), yet the same people my age on Facebook are always saying they wish they were young again to enjoy going out. Instead they spend the weekend watching tv or if they get real crazy go to a restaurant

I mean weve got to make more effort now and we cant just always do stuff on a whim, but life is just getting started. In fact this year is looking to be one of the most adventure filled yet

Here are two videos I did of two year end compilations. Forgive the editing as Im still really new at it and trying to perfect a style.

Meat storage warehouse

Taking any job I could right out of college until I could find a job I actually wanted

Graveyard shift where the only thing we had to do was unload 100 lb boxes of frozen pig parts off a truck and move them into the warehouse for 8 or 9 hours straight. It didn't help that the warehouse was kept really cold and we had to walk by a blast freezer that was -40 degrees. All for minimum wage

I actually thrive on physical jobs like that, but the amount of work I was putting in did not relate to the money I was being paid. I moved on to another warehouse job for awhile after that

It was on for three seasons and it was just awful. It kept nothing from the original show and went the route of "wacky random shenanigans". There may have been 2 or 3 good episodes in all

As for Roseanne, I wasn't allowed to watch it as a kid, but snuck in a few episodes here and there and caught some of it when I was older. I didn't find anything wrong with the reboot. It wasn't hilarious or anything, but it was a decent time. The strongest parts from the original that I saw was whenever Dan would lose his temper in some of the more serious episodes. You caught a glimpse of that here

Horror is my favorite genre, but there have only been two times when I've been legit scared (not counting jump scares). I can't post scenes now, but I'll try later

Once as a kid with the original Nightmare on Elm Street. When the body bag is being drug through the school hallway was horrifying to me as a kid

The other was when I was in middle school. My parents finally gave me free reign to rent whatever horror movies I wanted at the local video store so during the summer I'd constantly ride my bike there to rent a horror movie to watch late at night. At the very back of the store was a movie called Ghost House. Its about this group of people checking out an old house supposedly haunted by a little girl and her clown doll. In one scene a tv come on with just her face and the clown and she starts crying blood while the clown is making some very disturbing noises and the music is like some broken music box. It was so unsettling, I was paranoid to keep watching

For the most part yea. My only problem is that I only have one friend who is literally up for anything. I have a group of friends who are usually down for stuff but not to the level I am. This sometimes holds me back on things if I cant line up schedules with my one friend.

Still I love the stuff we do and this year is looking to be one of the biggest yet

Heres a video from 2016 as I havent got around to make a 2017 one yet. Filming and learning new editing tricks is a small hobby of mine as well. Still got a long ways to go though

That looks fun as hell. How'd you plan doing all of that with a job and all?

I'm hoping to get a motorcycle sometime this summer. Don't know how if I also plan on going to university, but I'm tired of waiting.

Honestly one of the best things you can do (especially for us as we all have kids) is to plan wwwaaayyy in advance. Like we're going on a week long hiking trip in Montana this year to the Glacier National Park and that has been in the works since Oct of last year. My wife and I are also going to LA and we've been planning that since Dec.

Weekend excursions like paddleboarding, hunting, paintball, beach trips have to be done with atleast 2 months notice. Its rare that we can all just pick up and go like we did in college.

But honestly thats ok. It takes more work, but we're not missing a beat even though we all have full-time jobs, families, and (atleast for me) time consuming hobbies.

Plan it out and you'll be suprised at how much you can fit in a year. I've also been wanting a motorcycle for a while so I feel you there

Yup motorcycles and road trips......

It's good to see someone on the average joe's level doing stuff like this. And it looks like most the stuff you plan are on a decent budget? Only downside would be the type of job you have in regards to vacation time. There's always those holiday 3 day weekends but those are far and few inbetween. Maybe I can start planning my Friday evenings and Saturdays, with Sunday as rest?

I really wish I could develop some sort of passive income to live on. Then I could really plan things out.

I'm so split on road trips. On one hand I love taking one to our destination. I'd almost rather shoot myself than travel back though. So freaking boring

Yea, I mean the reality is pretty much everyone is going to have to work. Hopefully you are able to land a job that is generous with time off and pay. To be honest though you don't need a ton of money for a lot of activities out there. Many of the things we do are one time expenses (paddleboarding, mountain biking, kiteboarding, hiking, etc.) that once you purchase your main equipment you're set for years. Once you include GoPros, drones, and a million accessories it adds up, but obviously none of that is required

Also if you take a Friday off and get up early (like 4am like we do) you have a full weekend for something like hiking. Hell our river trips are only one day (Sat) we just choose somewhere different each time and route our course down the river for a days worth of time (this hasn't always worked in our favor though!)

Thats just how we do it anyways. I find if you don't plan out your activities in advance you never end up doing anything for the weekend once Friday rolls around

I really want to buy one for a few hiking trips this year and I'm not sure what to get. I already know I'm getting a new GoPro because the one I have now is pretty outdated so I've been leaning towards the Karma (which is basically just an extension of the GoPro). Now I know the DJI blows away the Karma in pretty much every category, but since I'm not trying to be a professional the Karma seems like it would fit my needs. It also comes with a removable stabalizer which I have wanted for years and that alone costs $300.

The DJI on the other hand seems to be much more advanced and would be something that would probably last me much longer

I literally don't know anything about drones and I've never used one before so any advice from anyone who has had experience with them is welcome

Speaking of check-out lanes my grocery store has 4 of the small stations that are really only helfpul if you have 5 or 10 items. The other day this dude rolled up to one with a shopping cart completley filled with stuff

It probably took him 30 min. to check everything out

I just don't understand that thought process
