Stormblood gives no shits and did the whole "Greater East Asian Mishmash" thing, taking themes from Japan, China, Mongolia, and Korea. MoP refused to be anything but China and Mongolia inspired. Just another reason why XIV > WoW. [As if there aren't enough as is. Outside of L-O-FUCKING-L PVP, XIV is straight better everywhere than WoW] --- |

I mean, Balthier is straight up Han Solo. [And yes, that makes Fran Chewbacca] Ashe is Leia. Ashe's husbando's kingdom getting blown up? Alderaan. The Strahl is the Millennium Falcon. The Bahamut is the Death Star. [with the Nethercite cannon being the Superlaser. Nethercite was also used to blow up an entire country in the same concept as the Superlaser blowing up an entire planet] The Alexander is the Executor, complete with Ramming the Death Star/ the Bahamut in the ending. The start up sequence for the Bahamut is the Space Battle of Endor-- and "By the Gods!" is "It's a Trap!" That place where you later fight Zeromus is Hoth. The Sandsea is obvious. There's even Sandpeople! Rabanastre is Mos Eisley. --- |

Doesn't look that good. True, we hardly have a look at it, but first impression isn't that good.  People be like "It's for kids, the protagonist is young". ... So was Van Flyheight. So was the kid in Genesis. The catch is they never shifted out of the Zoids being... Mechs. I wouldn't say the same for Wild. --- |
