I'll second Cube and 28 Days Later. Cube 2 and Cube Zero are more of the same, if you dug the concept.

A bunch of these aren't strictly horror, but are movies I enjoyed that have elements of horror.

The Descent
Green Room
Housebound (Horror/Comedy)
Krampus (Actually kind of tame, but it's a fun Christmas-themed horror movie)
Buried (2010, more of a psychological thriller, but the concept is unsettling)
Sunshine (Sci-fi with horror elements)
American Psycho
The Gift (2015, more of a suspense movie, but kind of creepy)
The Babadook (Although I found the kid to be ANNOYING, I thought Essie Davis was great)
Dark City (kind of a stretch, but it has a great gloomy atmosphere)
Donnie Darko
Battle Royale
We Need To Talk About Kevin (Even though I don't like Tilda Swinton that much, the performances are pretty unsettling)
Let Me In (2010)
The Machinist (I need to rewatch this, actually)

Also, if I had to choose between giving up dairy and giving up meat, I'd strongly consider giving up meat. I sense that would be an unpopular choice.

If people weren't so fucking lazy, even broke people could eat decent meals.

it costs nothing for a bag of rice and a can of beans, or some ground beef. Or a bag of pasta and some garlic.

I always see these memes about college kids eating ramen, when they could spend $10 get rice and ground beef and beans, mix them and probably eat that for a few days.

I agree, and to add to that, you can make homemade soup with four or five ingredients. Get some chicken broth, a bag of potatoes, bag of onions, butter, and add milk or cream if you want it richer. Add more veggies if you like them. You just need a large pot to make a bigger batch. Soup isn't too expensive to make unless you want meat in it. You could get a rotisserie chicken and shred the meat into the soup, to save time.

It bothers me when I'm not hearing the actual actor's voice

Technically a lot of don't have "actual" actors since many anime are adapted from manga or other sources, so the character would have been created without a specific voice in mind. So in that sense the original voice actors aren't that much more authentic than those for other dubs, unless the creators themselves had input on the casting.

Yeah, the "actual actor" claim is always fucking stupid since very few roles are written for an actor. As such, both actors are equally valid.

Sure, with animated movies or anime it doesn't matter quite as much. I might actually go with the dubbed voices a lot of the time. But live-action movies, I'm always going with subtitles when possible.

90% of vegetables are inedible

Agreed

A lot of people don't eat veggies, which is something I could never do. I feel like veggies get a bad reputation because often they are boiled into oblivion, which actually does cause them to taste bad. If kids get served bland mush, of course they never want to eat it again.

But I also enjoy eating a salad of raw veggies (along with something else to complete the meal). So I'm definitely way less picky than most people on veggies.

However I don't like butternut squash, zucchini, eggplant, etc.

Pumpkin pie is as far as I venture in that category of vegetables (fruits?).

I prefer bbq sauce over ketchup most of the time. Both can be overly sweet, but bbq sauce has better flavour.

I despise pineapple on pizza.

I despise large pieces of raw onion in salads. Most would agree with this, actually, so why do so many restaurants insist on doing this?

I don't like Indian cuisine much. Every Indian restaurant is a disappointment. I don't want to spend $16 for a fragrant sauce that's supposed to impress me because they were able to cram in so many different spices. Give me actual food. And don't charge me $5 to have it served with rice. That's like ordering pasta, but you only get the sauce and need to pay extra for the pasta.

I love black pepper and put extra on virtually everything except fruits and desserts.

It bothers me when I'm not hearing the actual actor's voice, and I don't trust dubs to be any good anyways. Even if I can't understand the language, they can still display emotion with the tone of their voice.

I buy store brand "whipped dressing".

It's lower in fat, so I can use more of it.

and higher in sugar

I never checked the sugar content, actually (and I usually check sugar content on most things). It's 2g sugar per tbsp for the whipped dressing, though.

Tough to avoid sugar, especially with sauces and condiments where you easily overlook it. Salad dressings and stir fry sauce can have tons of sugar.

"Mayonnaise" can also be freshly homemade from quality ingredients, while "Miracle Whip" only comes in a can, so "Mayonnaise" wins by default.

If it was a contest between a bucket of Hellmans and a bucket of Miracle Whip, I'm not quite sure.

Really, an actual can? I've not seen that, only plastic jars or the plastic squeeze bottles.

It's lower in fat, so I can use more of it. Mainly to keep my sandwich from being too dry. I add lots of mustard for that extra "zip".

I had this problem with Kung Fu Panda 3. The battle in the panda village was especially silly; Po training what are basically lazy pacifist pandas to fight an unstoppable foe using dance ribbons, dumplings, and hugging to gain the upper hand.

was in there just last week and they wanted 5 bucks and some change for a 12 pack of soda, but only 2 bucks and some change for store brand. and their version of mt. dew to me anyways damn near tastes exactly the same.

fun fact

a 2 liter is generally less expensive than a 12 pack, by far.

two 2 liters equals the same amount of soda as in a 12 pack.

when you buy a 12 pack, you're buying the cans. it's usually half as expensive, or less, to just buy 2 liters.

I dislike 2L bottles, it goes flat if you don't drink it quickly. A case of 12 is still a pretty good value, and whenever I open a can it's fresh and fizzy. Tastes better out of a can too, I find.

But, I also mostly drink Pepsi Next or Coca-Cola Life because I try to avoid too much sugar.

I agree that some products like mac and cheese are noticeably worse when buying the store brand. However, I often buy store brand mayonnaise, cheese, water, canned vegetables, cookies, perogies, spices, mustard, and tablets for lactose intolerance. Off the top of my head.

When it comes to fresh meat, though, I don't cheap out. And I definitely don't buy it at Wal-Mart.
