| Thekiller37 10/05/17 10:47:20 AM #12 | First one (Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean) is amazing. Best video game music ever for me, by far. Most of the music in that game is just top tier. Gameplay is great(I feel like Baten Kaitos: Origins improved on this a little, but it's still great here), story is amazing, with a pretty famous plot twist in it, optional content is great, difficulty is pretty fair overall. Dungeons are mostly excellent as well. The popular thing people complain about in this game is the voice acting. It's not as bad as they make it out to be, it's just pretty jarring at first. It's like there's a filter over the voices and they're a little distant. It's supposed to represent how you the player are a guardian spirit. Baten Kaitos: Origins, however is a prequel. This one is my personal favourite of the two. Way more sidequest content than the first, fixed the voice acting, imo slightly better gameplay, an equally amazing story, as well as equally amazing music. It amazes me how MS/TC managed to create a pequel that was legitimately just as good as the first, if not a hair better. Usually prequels and sequels are a lot worse than the original. Anyways, difficulty in this game is slightly easier as well, imo. This game has the bonus story wise of certain decisions you making slightly impacting the ending. tl;dr get both, they're both amazing. Pretty different games, that are equally as good.
