Some rather pricey work tools that included a high end laptop intended to give me enough power for on-the-go graphics work and client demos. It made sense at the time. That was back in late 2007, and thanks to the financial crisis it would be almost 3 years before it was ever used for that purpose.

Not only did I have to pay this stuff off while unemployed (more or less), but I never saw a penny from the investors set to reimburse me for the expenses. They had problems of their own, being affiliated with Shiny Media.

Pfft, no he's not. Bailing is the right move. Once a relationship evolves to a romantic interest, it's hard to salvage the friendship and often not worth the effort anyway. I've seen it happen but moving on is usually best for both parties.

Ignoring all other factors, and just going by what I'd rather have on my plate, then it's turkey. But chicken is cheaper, easier to prepare, and way more versatile. So it depends on what you mean by "generally".

I can't say from looks, but in terms of personality I can tell you this much: even other guys don't like them. They have some understandable deep resentments, but we've all heard the Cain and Abel story and when you start sounding like Cain people around you get uncomfortable. And I don't just mean the sort of 'death to chads' talk, which is creepy. It goes beyond what they're saying well into how they say anything and everything. So you can't even make small talk with these people because even the small talk will feel creepy.

I actually listened to some of this, and that isn't their issue. Their point of view is that women who are 5-6/10 are only responding to 8-10/10 guys, so even that isn't an option for them. The perception is that they can't date in their own league, and I'm at least a little sympathetic to their reticence at having to lower their standards even farther than that.

Whether or not what they're saying reflects reality is another matter. Maybe these guys aren't really in the 5-6 range. Maybe this is mostly an artifact of online dating, particularly Tinder, as if there were no other ways of meeting women.

Maajid Nawaz has been listed in the SPLC as an anti-muslim extremist, and his criticism of Islam has been called hate speech, racist, xenophobic (or at least pandering to xenophobes). Look into what he's actually said about Islam and tell me with a straight face that we has to say isn't of value - that his ideas about de-radicalization don't "advance society".

So who decides what someone like that gets to say, and not say?

There's considerable evidence that the Australian government tightened its hate speech laws for the vote: countless news articles reported this, and official statements from the government that were on no uncertain terms.

So what blatant lies, again?

Because one of Bearing's primary objections was that this was a fairly aggressive and patently one-sided clampdown on free expression. And, given the vague wording of the expanded hate-speech code, AND Australia's spotty record of free expression to begin with (to the point of having only defacto Freedom of Expression, but no clearly defined legal right to it as exists in the US and to a lesser extent Canada) I would tend to call this concern legitimate - albeit in a way peculiar to Australia.

I'd join Bearing in not voting. There are serious implications for freedom of expression in a yes vote that I am not ok with, but at the same time I have no particular objection to gay marriage on the general principle that adults should be free to enter any voluntary living arrangements they want with each other.

It's a tossup between the Samyang Seafood Party and the Nongshim Neoguri Spicy Seafood. The Seafood Party has a better soup mix, but the Neoguri noodles alone are worth the price and the soup packet is pretty good too.

Yeah, if we're talking things like baby bottles, or something else that's often used for something much warmer than room temperature. And I certainly doubt you're doing yourself any favors if you're running old Gatorade bottles through a dishwasher, but they aren't dishwasher safe in the first place. I wouldn't even want to run hot tap water through them.
