With my new goodies (plus legend diving Tidus and Paine) I got 28.19 on Liquid Flame - previous time was in the high 50s. Five down, three to go (with my current best time:

Hydra - 31.80
Golem - 36.10
Fenrir - 48.31

Hydra seems doable, I'm sure I could get it if I dive Rydia or Maria but I don't think I want to spend them on those characters.

Also on the surprise item draw I almost had a heart attack when I saw a disco ball and then it turned out to be one measley mythril.

Got impatient, did one more pull, and got both Ultras. 2/11 Tidus USB and Paine USB. Didn't get the chain or the good BSBs but this is probably where I stop since there's too much risk of dupes. I at least have two good water characters now.

Black Friday draw sounds exciting, hope I get something good. Or at least not dupes.

Mom Bomb CM is a real pain, I haven't beaten it yet. With no Medica I just couldn't keep up with the damage. I'm going to try bringing Gordon USB for my RW, and the Magicite that gives you 20% fire resist.

Nova Dragon has a lot of damage output on 300 - but the nice thing is his Ultimate Twister is guaranteed to trigger Zidane's trance mode if you have his legend dive (or anyone else with a trance mode like Vivi).

Tidus banner coming next week is a good one if you need water. I'm definitely planning to draw on that one. Tactics one right after that is solid, but there's a better Tactics banner with a lot of the same stuff + TG Cid coming in 3 months or so.

What's your Dark Dragon strategy? Are you using Orlandu?

I'm kinda questioning Shelke's usefulness because I think I need the party buffs more than I need a super fast entrust.

I wish I had Rikku USB, but no way I would trade my Lightning USB for it. Lightning's my best damage dealer now. Rikku USB is fine as a RW - saves you from having to use 2 ability slots for proshellga.

Although there's also no harm in making it since it comes from Ninja motes instead of crystals - and 2 uses is probably all you need.

Yuffie's an okay ninja mage. I've used her as one pretty often. Constant stream of RES ignoring AOE damage that can get to like 4.5k base and builds meter relatively fast on hitting weaknesses so I can use more soul breaks. And ninja magic covers a lot of weaknesses so you can actually get close to constant 8000-9000+ on a lot of stuff. Which I mean, I guess that's bad as a pure DPS but when I mostly just want meter it's okay. Adds up over time!

Ninja magic is great. But it uses a different damage formula from black and summon magic so you don't need high magic to maximize it. The soft cap for ninja magic is 390 or something like that which is really easy to hit - hence why Stitch in Time is only really useful for ninjas who also have black 5 or summon 5 access.

Northern Cross - not that great, since almost all high level bosses are immune to stop/interrupt. I honed this to R2 a long time ago and I rarely use it.

Dervish - haven't used it, but seems like it has potential with the high multiplier and 8 hits. It's no elemental though and right now the game is pretty focused on elemental weaknesses (unless you're Cloud's USB with Omega Drive)

Affliction Break - this one can be pretty useful

Curada - strong, but requires commitment to hone it

Valigarmanda - strong but like all summons has limited uses.

Meltdown - one of the best

Omega Drive - especially good if you have Cloud USB. I don't use it much because I don't have Cloud USB.

Ultima - trap, but I think it gets buffed in the future.

Lifebane - if you meet the attack threshold it's basically another Omega Drive. If you don't then it's a lot weaker.

Stitch in Time - super narrow. Fujin and Tyro are basically the only Ninjas who can take advantage of it, and they usually have better things to do.

Allegro Con Moto - some people really like this one - I haven't used it yet because I don't have any good bard SBs.

Penalty Strike (this seems bad too) - yep, it's bad.

BTW, "small" means 20% when you're talking about element boost gear. It means other things in different contexts which is kinda annoying.

Got a question though. With a small lightning boost sword, Orlandu's attack is (in total) at 440 or so. With my highest attack sword, he'd be around 520 (keeping the 7* kaiser shield on him, which also ups lightning). My question is how far does the gap have to be in attack for me to just go with the highest attack option, rather than the element boost?

As long as you're above the soft cap after buffs (805 attack or 1056 magic), the element boost is way more useful. If you're only using a physical team then shout + one other stacking 30% buff (like vessel of fate) will get you over the soft cap starting from 440.

Lightning with USB+BSB2 and Ashe with BSB are my damage against Bismarck and they can consistently clear sub-30. Both are fully dived though.

Yes, unless you have someone you like more to use those motes on. He's great and he has a good dive (doublecast LM2s are among the best ones).

Magicite team composition is different from what you're used to, so if you go in unprepared they seem insane. Also some of them have little tricks you have to learn how to deal with (especially Shadow Dragon, but also Golem and Mist Dragon to an extent). But if you're able to do torments you can probably take on at least some of the magicites too.

Probably the biggest difference from regular content is that breakdowns aren't worth bringing. Entrust is really good because you probably have one or two characters who are better with a particular element and you want to use RMs that maximize their DPS, so slap your Mako Might and Ace Striker type RMs on the entrusters instead.

300 is usually a lot easier than the 250 because you don't have trash rounds to worry about. 250 torments are some of the most painful content in the game to get through IMO. Magicites are more challenging but they don't take quite as long (especially if you use hit and run in the torments)

Oh hey, I play this game. Actually I'm like a week 3 player or something - the only two events I missed were too old to be in the renewal dungeons (and the 2nd event, Light Against The Darkness, already returned way back in the first year).

Anyone here trying to do sub-30 second magicites? I've done 4/8: Bismarck, Sealion, Mist Dragon, and Dark Dragon. I have tons of wind stuff but Golem is an pain in the ass so I haven't done better than 38s against him yet. 40s on Hydra, might be able to do better if I just entrust Maria right away (and use Fabula Raider with a character who has the thunder god mode RM for faster haste). My ice and water SBs are just bad.
