How does that work? In the US, stores stay open late (often til 9 or 10) so that people who work 9-5 can go in after work.

Are jobs not typically 9-5 there? Are there more stay-at-home spouses who do the shopping during the day?

Toxic masculinity is an actual concept. It's just that everyone seems to think it means "masculinity is toxic" which obviously isn't accurate if you guys bother to do some research

Ah, this is another one. Toxic masculinity is definitely a thing. For example:

I have a friend whose boyfriend absolutely freaks the fuck out when she does things like holds the door for him or carries the groceries in. Like, full on pouting and sulking and being angry at her for the rest of the day. Why? Toxic masculinity that tells the boyfriend that it's "shameful" for a woman to do these traditionally "manly" things in his place.

I suppose toxic femininity is a thing too; it just hasn't caught on.

Yet, I've had actual SJWs scream at me that my opinions don't matter because I'm a "white cishet male." I've had them say I have zero right to talk or write about anyone that is anything other than a "white cishet male" like me; they say it's not my story to tell.

I've been shittalked and threatened because I liked the new Star Wars. In their eyes, it "completely sidelined all the PoC characters to focus on the poor white man and his pain."

I've had SJWs jump down my throat for saying "transgendered" in a comment that was 100% pro-trans.

SJWs exist. They're the extremists of the left. I have zero issue with someone calling them as they are.

I do take issue with someone labelling anyone or anything "SJW garbage" because it dares to have someone other than cishet white men in it. That any attempt to talk about liberal beliefs is "political correctness gone mad." Those people are morons.

Then people will just show up at 8:40.

I'm confused, does everyone think that you accrue interest just by having a statement balance?

No, but most people are too stupid to keep track of their last 30 days and end up paying interest unnecessarily.

"Keeping a balance" is a myth meant to trick you into paying interest.

When people say "keeping a balance", they mean paying the statement balance, not your TOTAL balance.

They can't charge you interest on any charge made less than 30 days ago. Since your statement balance is the SUM of your total charges in the past 30 day charges, but the DUE DATE is a few days/week or two past the STATEMENT BALANCE, any new charges made after the statement balance aren't included in interest charges.

Example, you buy a TV for $400 on the 1st. On the 30th, you have a statement balance of $400 (you didn't buy anything else the rest of the month). The due date is on the 12th, but on the 9th you bought a PS4 for $200.

Your total account balance is $600, but your amount due on the 12th is only $400. Even though you're "keeping a balance" of $200, that doesn't get charged interest, unless you keep that balance past the NEXT statement balance.

Thank you, I know exactly how interest accrues. Again, most people are too stupid to get this and "Don't keep a balance" is easier than trying to ram this into their heads.

Pay for everything with it and pay it off before it draws interest.

"Keeping a balance" is a myth meant to trick you into paying interest.

Keep your utilization relatively low. The company doesn't give a shit if you buy a $0.50 pack of gum or a $500 TV with it as long as it's proportionate to your credit limit.

I laugh at the people who think they're "too responsible" to use credit cards. The majority of you will have a hell of a time trying to get approval for a reasonable car loan or mortgage.

Isn't "getting forced out" in this situation getting to sell your property at a fairly large profit?

Most people rent in these neighborhoods so there's not really any profit to be made from selling. What would happen is after a tenant's lease is up the landlord would charge a higher rent due to the fact that they can get more for the property now that an area has been "gentrified".

This is one of the bigger problems.

Imagine your rent is $1000. Your landlord sends you a notice that rent is going up to $1500 in two months. Most people are struggling to pay their rent as is.

So, most of these people are forced out of their apartments. Then, because they're monetarily stretched so thin, they can't get the upfront cost to move somewhere else (first and last month's rent, plus security deposit at minimum for most places). A lot of them end up in extended stay hotels which, while more expensive in the long run, don't charge those upfront costs they can't collect.

Thus, they never manage to save because they're paying so much in "rent" a week. Gentrification causes people to sink into and stay in poverty.

Congrats, man. You're lucky, but there's no need to be ashamed of it.

My mother is trying to help me get a new(er) Civic. I've been driving an '02 Civic since high school. It's served me well, but it's essentially a screaming metal deathtrap that rattles like crazy at 55 mph at this point. I'm not wanting to get a brand new one (because I neither want a brand new car nor can I afford the payments on said brand new car), but it's difficult to find one that's more than two but less than fifteen years old.

I think the Fits are cute in a way. A friend of mine had one for like five years until she hit a deer... then she got a newer Fit lol. I'm partial to Civics myself.

I saw someone up above suggest Subaru. A buddy of mine has a new-ish Legacy. He hasn't had any problems with it before, but I did a ton of research on them and they seem to be pretty expensive to repair when they do inevitably need it.

Be sure to throw away any wet food she doesn't eat after about an hour. It can make her sick if it sits out for much longer.

Try to feed her at the same time every day. My cat knows when he's supposed to be fed and will whine LOUDLY if it's past time. He's also very bad to wolf down his food if he's been waiting for too long. He's old, like your new kitty and has a sensitive stomach, your new kitty may too, and usually throws up as a result.
TopicSo im getting a cat. What should i know?
_Rinku_

1) Do not declaw your cat. Declawing a cat is similar to removing the top segment of a human's fingers.

2) Get two litter boxes. The rules is always n+1, where n is the number of cats you have.

3) Feed your cat something better than Special Kitty or Meow Mix. I feed mine Science Diet, personally.

4) Feed your cat at least one can of wet food a day. Kitty needs taurine.

5) If your cat wants to hide under the bed, let them. They'll warm up to you eventually.

6) Scratching posts. Toys. A cat tree would be fantastic, but if you can't afford one, make sure there are elevated surfaces for the cat to climb on.

7) Don't spank or hit your cat if they do something bad. Cats DO NOT understand this and will only associate the pain with you/not what they did. Try clapping or spritzing them with a spray bottle (of water) when you see them doing something wrong. Ultimately accept that they will likely only learn to not do the bad thing when you are in the room.

8) Don't put their water and food dishes next to each other. Don't put either near the litterboxes.

That really sucks. When I was a kid, the local cable company got into a pissing contest with Viacom and they lost a whole host of channels (including Nickelodeon). Tons of people, including my family, switched to satellite as a result.

You may be able to get satellite; just check your lease or ask the landlord. At my old place, people had the dishes out on their balconies (though the management forbid new tenants from having them).

I'd say kids need to be taught at 8 or 9. It needs to be several years before they start puberty. Girls and boys need to be taught together, not separately.

You need to teach them early so you can really hammer in the idea of safe sex, contraceptives, and just generally how puberty and reproduction work. That way, when they're old enough to physically be capable of getting or getting someone else pregnant, they're not completely clueless.

Boys and girls should be taught together so that their bodies aren't a complete mystery. I've had to tell college age men that women do not pee out of their vaginas and college age women that erections are not always voluntary (basically related to the idea that a woman can rape a man). It also helps them understand each other as people (so boys don't view girls as just something to be fucked and girls don't view boys as predators who only want to fuck them).

I'm actually asexual, so I don't really have a concrete answer for your second question.
