I had to do that. I used heavy kick for 4 AP, then walk away and let the ant/scorpion walk forward 6, just so I could do it again. Got through unscathed, but man, it was painfully slow.

The ants and scorpions wont hit you if you move 3 steps away. So if you have 10 agility you can hit twice and run. This trick also works on the rats in FO1.

Replacing the battery is really easy though. Some say you need a soldering iron but I pulled it off in highschool with an xacto knife and electrical tape.

Yes. Some good tape will hold the battery in place.

My R/B/Y save was still good when I checked a year or two ago, but G/S save files were gone. So I bought some batteries to replace them.

Really? Because I recently played through the PSP version and Edge was consistently doing damage on par with and often times surpassing Kain and Cecil and that was without using throw.

I haven't finished fallout 2 yet. I never even got that far because I keep starting over, which I plan to do again. I got carried away with a save editor and put a lot of points in gambling to get rich and even got two mega power fist for mc and sulik.

As far as I know, Charisma is still a relative dump stat, based entirely around how many NPCs you want to recruit at the same time. 4 Charisma will still allow me to get 2 NPCs (and Dogmeat), which is nice because I had 4 followers in Fallout, and they got in the way quite often in the final stretches of the game.

Anyways, thoughts?

Companions are much better in fallout 2. They even level up as you gain levels so they wont suck in endgame, but they only gain levels if they are with you when you level up, so it's best to get them when you're still low level.

If you took bloody mess, you can kill the overseer or just press space bar as soon as he's done talking to enter combat mode. If you care enough, you can go back to the brotherhood and pick up two more power armor from the room on the first floor you're not allowed in. Also forgot to mention, if your speech is 120+, you can convince the master to kill himself.

I deeded in school a couple times.

Actually it could. The new SWBF game is marketed towards kids and has a gambling element. This can lead to underage gambling, which is a valid enough reason to ban loot boxes. Though they might try to restrict it to M rated games only. Although M rated games are made for people 17 and up and some states don't allow gambling until 21. So they could still make a argument that it promotes underage gambling.

So, even though this is my first time playing, I decided to restart my game and my character to better optimize my stats in my build. I found out that skill books don't raise your skill if your skill's already too high, so there are five Gun and Ammo books in the library that are useless to me, even though I can farm pretty much unlimited caps early on in the game. Seriously, this new character went from Vault 13 down to the Hub, sold the 10mm handgun I had for 250 caps, and now I'm up over 22,000 caps. Hooray for breaking the game early on, although this isn't the most egregious of game-breaking exploits.

Now I'm thinking about restarting the character so I can tag something other than small guns. Probably won't, though; tag skills get two times as many skills per point spent in them.

I believe the cap is 81 or 91 with skill books. So if you're ok with exploiting the casino and buying skill books, then small guns isn't worth tagging. You can also change the game difficulty to hard to lower your stats to get more from skill books, but that only works with non combat skills. I'd suggest tagging energy weapons instead so it can catch up fast when they out class small guns.

No they don't. I used a dollars worth of nickles to hold down the 1 and 4 keys while I watched a movie. By the time it was over I had over 500k caps and weight was the same.

Your charisma divided by 2 is the most you can have. So you could technically have up to five companions at max charisma, but there's only 4 companions. I believe dog meat doesn't count towards the limit, so 6 charisma should be enough to have all of them with you at once.

Fallout 2 also uses that formula and has a lot of companions to recruit, so even maxed out you can't have all of them at once.

Hit once and run will keep most melee enemies from hitting you once. At least until you have a good enough hit chance to not miss a lot and can kill them before they get a chance to hit you. You can also use the environment to keep everyone with guns from ripping you apart by hiding behind a wall.

In case you didn't know, agility is your most important special. Agility = AP so I suggest starting with at least 9. With the implant you can get it to 10, but you might want to start with 10 since you don't know where to get the implant.

Nice to know they put up enough to sell out in five seconds.
