The fall of Dead Rising is probably one of those *things* that make me shake my head when people talk about how gaming is better than ever because Dead Rising 4 is like such a perfect example of everything wrong with gaming today.

Like I remember playing Dead Rising and just thinking "wow" when I played it last generation.

Dead Rising is a game with heart and soul. Dead Rising 4 is a fucking husk.

I cant tell if it is a cash grab or they actually thought that was best for the series.

There have been exactly 2 turn based rpgs I enjoyed. The Pokemon series, and Paper mario series. I even thought Mario RPG was trash. Also I have a strong distaste for the FF series as a whole. Honestly my second least favorite series, Kingdom Hearts is the only one worse. I am just not a JRPG person usually.

I mean, if you want to add some mode that doesn't have a time limit, whatever. But like...WTF? That's like saying "I want Tetris but the bricks don't auto drop."

Because people are bad and fuck around all day. Also it makes it one of the few games that is physically impossible to speedrun lmaoThere was still plenty of time to fuck around in Dead Rising 2 if you were efficient in doing missions. But people just want to kill zombies.

In its current form it most certainly does.

If they want to ditch the time limit they need to completely revamp the game. The combat system isn't designed to be challenging. The zombies are more like an obstacle to slow you down than an actual threat to your life. But they haven't done this. Probably because they don't know what to replace it with outside of "Look at this cool and over the top weapon guys!"

I miss that regular absurdity of the original. Can't even throw pies anymore...

If I want a good zombie survival game, I will play State of Decay. Without the time limit it feels like an average game. Include a sandbox mode, but keep the time on the normal story.
