The only games ive played that are harder than Dark Souls are hard for unfair reasons (I.e. a lot of NES games). Whats a game that is harder than Dark Souls where every time (or even most of the time) you lose, its because you did a poor job reacting to a fair and foreseeable event if you just take time to observe your surroundings and enemy attack patterns?

But it's middling in terms of dungeons, and one could say the mask system is disruptive.

My only complaint about the dungeons is there wasnt enough of them. All except maybe woodfall are some of the best dungeons in the series. As far as masks go, my main complaint is that like 3/4 of the happy masks are completely useless after you use them to get one heart piece or something.

TC, I know answering this question would take all the fun out of it and therefore defeat the purpose of these topics. But after reading them all, my curiosity is getting the best of me. What exactly is slamming?

Lol, so the first summer after college one of my friend's was in a metal band and apparently they got thrown out of McDonald's for being too rowdy. We all made jokes that they got "Thrown out for Throw Down" or something like that and then right before I went to McDick's with that group of guys I posted a topic here titled "Me and my boys are about to go slamming at McDonald's.

Some dude in said topic lost his marbles and told us what a disgrace we were to the metal community even though the topic was an obvious joke. Since then it's been an all purpose word for various forms of "partying" since CE fell in love with the word right around that time as a word for someone being "rekt".

Hmmm, the first of these topics I ever encountered was one in which the slamming took place at McDonalds. Was it the one where your boy Rodrigo tagged along?

It's murders by extremist groups. Most murders are not committed by extremist groups.

I know I know it's been discussed 1000 times and we're all sick of it.

But so many times when someone like myself who is adapting slowly to this type of thing asks someone how they're supposed to know which pronoun the person they're talking to prefers, the answer is "You can ask them."

K, so am I supposed to ask every person I meet what their pronouns are upon meeting them now? Is that supposed to become a normal part of greeting someone new? Am I to treat each person I meet as if they could potentially be part of the <1% of the population that would get offended if I used the wrong pronoun? What if I'm talking to a biological male that (I know this is a stretch) prefers to be called "he/him" just like >99% of biological males and he takes my asking of what pronouns to use for him as an insult? Am I to risk potentially offending >99% of the people I meet to appease the <1% of people who would prefer to be asked?

Remembering basic military training, my first instinct says "fuck hospital corners".

So do the next 87 or so instincts.

what

Long straight hallways with lots of doorways is basically a no-man's land for anyone having to clear a building. Its one of the most dangerous environment for a soldier against unknown combatants.

I think by hospital corners he's talking about the corners of your bed being perfectly made.

It's probably a self-help book. I've seen lots of military folks write them because they struggle with finding a sense of purpose after serving and have found all sorts of ways to combat depression and other issues. The book probably reads like an instruction manual of little things you can do to keep from wallowing in feeling worthless.

I know I know. The book isn't actually about making your bed. I just found it comical after some of the discussion that took place in this topic. I watched another video where the guy was being interviewed, and he actually seems to be a pretty intelligent guy.

Not to bad mouth the guy, but this sounds like the kind of mindset you only come to after having all the independent thought hammered out of your head through constant and rigorous training. Good on him for finding purpose in bedsheets, but for a lot of people I imagine they're focused on bigger things.

I don't think there's really anything wrong with what you said. I have respect for anyone who has served in the military. One of my friends' dad is a retired military vet, and he is a COMPLETE asshole, and even though I can't stand to be around the guy, I'm thankful and have a certain amount of respect for him for the time he served. But what you said about having all the independent thought hammered out of your head does seem to be a common trait among people who served a long time in the military.

It's only about a minute and a half from where I have the video marked, but for those who won't watch it:

He basically says that by making your bed each morning, you have completed the first task of the day, and it will give you a sense of pride that will encourage you to complete more tasks that day. He goes on to say that it also teaches you that the little things matter, because if you can't do the little things right, you'll never be able to do the big things right.

All fair enough in my opinion, but I disagree with one of the last statements he makes. "If by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made." But getting into a bed that is made actually requires more effort than one that is not made. To get into a made bed, first you have to fold the sheets down before you get in. If my sheets are already thrown down from where I got out of bed that morning, I can skip that step and just hop straight into bed!

So I want to see if anyone here has an opinion on what advantages there are to making your bed, other than making it look good if you have company coming over or giving yourself a sense of pride. Does it make the bed warmer or something?
