I don't agree with that, but I do love it. I don't know how they managed to make it so fun and charming when they basically gutted every aspect of the game, but I've always had a special place in my heart for SNES version of SimCity

It was still simple enough to be easy to get into and complex enough to be challenging. But I'm sure some part of nostalgia influences my opinion

I like 2k, it added more layers but it takes more effort. Sim city 4 is the best pure sim, but it's too detailed for my liking. While most modern sims are just traffic simulators.

If you get just 2% in those metropolitan areas you just swayed gained 1 million votes and took 1 million from your opponent. That's the equivalent to swaying 30% of Iowa, which is unreasonable to think you're going to do. So where do you think that politicians are going to focus their attention. Where that 5-10% undecided or close to the fences can be the deciding difference. Or going to anywhere in the Midwest that's not Chicago and maybe st Louis.

That's 48 million in 4 cities. Those cities will get 90% of all attention in elections.

Trump didn't win 100% of Wisconsin despite Hillary never stepping a foot in. It's not about having the 60 odd million that would have won the popular vote in 2016. It's about swaying that 48 million as much to your side as possible to have the decided advantage. I'd fully support redistribution to bring it closer to the population distribution. Since I'm pretty sure that formula was made in the 1920s. But the fundamental idea that a candidate needs broad appeal is correct.

Though if I'm fixing the election process the first thing I'm doing is eliminate first pass the post voting to create viability for more parties. 2 parties is contributing to the problems of the country as compromise has become a sign of weakness. And both parties are more than happy to say why it's all the other guys fault rather than ever focus on what makes them right and what realistically they can do to enact their vision.

Something like the president should be voted based on population. If more people want x, x should be the winner not some stupid system that over rewards low population states while penalizing high population states.

California is the largest electoral, they are in no way shape or firm ignored or punished like 98% of the country would be under your terrible idea.
